  1. It's already blatantly obvious we won't go beyond that. How many times do they need to get bounced in the 1st rd of the playoffs, before people stop denying reality to themselves? Also, for all of the people that lambaste me about opinion on trades/signings, there a LOT of very low grades here that point to those people actually agreeing with me, but just choose to lambaste me because I have the courage to speak the blunt truth, and it offends them. Well, I'm offended, that they were offended by the blunt truth. Lol
  2. And I'll continue to say it. Small markets like us only have occasional short windows to have a chance at deep playoff runs, and when those arise, they need to actually capitalize on them, and make a move or 2 to get over the hump. When ours have presented themselves, our FO always resorts to their signature move, which is sit on their hands, do nothing, and pray for luck to knock on their door. There's absolutely no reason MA couldn't up the payroll to $130-$140M once in a while. The ownership group is beyond squeaky tight.
  3. D-. To be expected every offseason
  4. 🤣 Hi there. Have a great night. You may want to consider changing your name on here to "liveforoctoberbutonlyforagameorsountiltheyrepromptlybounced". Like I've told others here, feel free to block me, so you don't see my comments. Wouldn't hurt my feelings, even a little bit. Lol.
  5. Hindsight is always 20/20. Those trades weren't really considered needle movers at the time.
  6. Not moves for has beens. Actual meaningful moves. Like I said, a few years ago when we had an awesome starting rotation was our best chance to win a Ship. Imo, they should've made a couple moves in that time frame for legit players/controllable players via trades or FA signing for some more offense to actually compete in the playoffs those years. I don't fully understand why so many people here are so against trading from our farm system in trades now. Why not? We have a strong farm system, and been drafting well for a while now, that it's likely we'd be able to replace the prospects we'd given up anyway. We better hope our pitching performs like 4 Cy Young's, because we haven't replaced the offense we lost when Adames left. Not even close.
  7. Could've been even better some years, if they'd actually pry open that wallet once in a while to actually try and do some damage in the playoffs, instead of relying on luck/hope alone. They should've went for it a few years when we had 1 of the best starting rotations in MLB.
  8. Like I've always said. Hope they prove wrong. I'm definitely not gonna hold my breath waiting for a WS championship though, because unless they actually move a move or 2 on certain years, to actually try and get us over the hump, we'll continue to get promptly bounced from the playoffs pretty much every year.
  9. You conveniently didn't acknowledge the comment where I told the people hating on Counsell, who could say we wouldn't be better with Murphy at the helm.
  10. Like I said, I almost always predict around .500, so I don't set myself up for disappointment, if they crap the bed. Use that search to also see where I said we could be better without Counsell, while most here were demanding his head on a stick. Lol doubt you'll want to see that proof though.
  11. I did? Lol proof please. Even if I did(which I doubt) I was one person who actually thought we could be better without Counsell, when most others here let their emotions of hate do their typing for them. I try not to set myself for disappointment, by letting my emotions overestimate how good we really are. We're only 1-2 key injuries/poor performances away from being a possible 90+ win team, to a 65-70 win team.
  12. I was one of those people, who didn't write off the Crew just because Counsell left, while most others here kept ranting and calling for his head on a stick, simply because he went to Chicago. So obviously, he was supposed to do what everyone else thought he should do, instead of doing what HE wanted to do. Must be a bunch of selfish control freaks here.
  13. What do you consider hypocritical about it? Lol. There's many more serious issues going on the world to hate people over, other than professional sports. Whether our favorite teams win or lose, doesn't effect our lives at all. Hating someone or something over professional sports, just exposes how immature our society has become.
  14. Thanks for bringing up another great player the Cubs went out and got to try and get better now. We rely on hope around these parts. Personally, I think MA and the ownership group should sell the team.
  15. Would've, could've, should've. The main reason we've been winning the division lately, is because the rest of the teams have been horrible. Williams is only human. Win as a team, lose as a team.
  16. That was because the rest of our division was horrible. That's likely not the case now, and I'd bet winning the NL Central will be much more difficult because the other teams are making moves to get better, and we're not. We still haven't come close to replacing the offensive #'s Adames put up. We still get bounced from the playoffs immediately. How quickly people conveniently forget that.
  17. Them trying to get better is a reason to hate them? Wish our team actually made moves that have a good chance of making us better, rather than just claiming they are, and relying on luck. Professional sports isn't a legitimate reason for hate, at all.
  18. If the Crew did trade for Cease, I doubt it would take a Quero level prospect to get him anyway. I just think Quero will end up average at best offensively if he does make the bigs eventually. Hope he proves me wrong.
  19. Normally I'd agree with you. In this case though, it wouldn't bother me, because Quero is coming off an injury, and blocked by Contreras. Also, although he showed some promise with his offense, he's mainly known as a defense first catcher. I doubt it would take Quero+ to get Cease in a trade anyway.
  20. Gotta give up something, to get something. There's always risk involved with trades. Like I said earlier, there's basically a 0% chance this would happen anyway.
  21. Why not? Hall has been pretty underwhelming in Baltimore and Milwaukee, and Quero is coming off an injury, and blocked by Contreras. No matter how high they're ranked, prospects are only that. Prospects. They're far from being sure fire major league players.
  22. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10153683-pitching-trade-packages-for-padres-ace-dylan-cease-amid-mlb-rumors There's 0% chance of this happening, but I'd be ok with it, if it did.
  23. Giannis isn't going anywhere.
  24. The NL Central has been pretty bad for a while now, so it wasn't very difficult to do. We still get bounced from the playoffs right away, pretty much every year.
  25. Agreed. Crazy rich people are the only one's that have the $$ to buy cards of that caliber. Wouldn't surprise me if the players themselves are the winning bidders many times.
