    This is a non-solicited plug: I want to recommend being a caretaker. I look at the year-long enjoyment I get from this site and consider it a bargain. I check in for news, updates, I learn about prospects, I get to be snarky, and I think it's worth contributing to something to help see it stick around in a useful format. And I certainly don't miss ads.

    Brewers need to lose the next two so my August prediction of 17-12 is correct. Fingers crossed!

    Anyone else watching Dodgers-Tigers? Blake Snell gives up a couple of baserunners, and ground rule double made it 1-0 Detroit, runners on second and third, nobody out. Snell signals to the ump, says something and leaves the field for a minute and a half. When he came back, they let him throw warm up pitches. Very strange.

    Finishing with a 5-10 game lead allows you to rest everyone the last week and get your rotation lined up. I don’t think it’s wasted effort.

    They’ve scored 22 runs twice: against Toronto and Seattle. Brewers build that run differential by bullying expansion teams.

    Second-guessing everything is fun, isn't it? Are you suggesting they should have kept Rengifo? You are worried about Anthony Siegler and Isaac Collins? and I liked Caleb Durbin, but I like the pitchers the Brewers got even better. It took Durbin til game 73 to get his OPS out of the .500s. I am sure that would have gone over well here.

    Just noticed the AL East has moved ahead of the NL Central for best record. 41 games over compared to 40 for the NLC. Doesn’t mean anything, but I’ve been noting it most of the season and I don’t remember a time this season when the Brewers’ division didn’t have the best record
