  1. Put it this way... I don't think the Brewers did him any favors by putting him into Brevard County. The injury also hampered him. I will see how 2018 goes in Biloxi. I do think Stokes is a better bet as of now. If Stokes and Ray force the issue... Yelich could move to first. Lots of time. Yelich is a Gold Glove-caliber LF and is 26. Why in the world would they move him to 1B? Right now, if Ray and Stokes are confined to LF, they are trade currency. Hopefully Ray has the defensive chops to play all three positions in the OF. That will only help his value. I think Stokes is likely confined to LF, though.
  2. Suter may never be a regular member of the rotation, but don't underestimate how valuable having a guy like him is. Pretty crazy how many fans don't like him just because he doesn't throw 95. For the most part, he's been solid this year.
  3. Man Aguilar has a sweet swing. The guy can just flat out hit. Indians made a mistake letting him go for nothing.
  4. The great results of the pen have been spoiling us. This is more how typical pens work. Good days and not so good days. Logan is a proven solid MLB pitcher. Probably still working out the rust. I'l give him the benefit of the doubt. This is the perfect spot for him to get work.
  5. So is Villar good again? I so want him to be good again, simply to see Brewers Twitter and Facebook implode upon itself.
  6. Gallo is exactly the type of high K low average high power player that Stearns seems to be shying away from. We got enough of those types already on the team. No thanks.
  7. I'm just not sold on Choi. He had a nice spring, and got a big hit in Game #1, but nothing else in his major league career has indicated that he is anything but a replacement-level bat. But it makes sense to bring up Choi and not Phillips, as with Santana finally hitting better, Phillips was only going to get sporadic playing time.
  8. I was expecting him to be bad, but he's actually been hitting very well in AAA, and just got called up by the Orioles.
  9. Ugh. I mean, everyone pretty much knew it was coming, but still, ugh. While there are no guarantees it would have ended any differently, there is a possibility that the team's mishandling of Braun and the 10-day DL could very well have cost them the game on Tuesday. There was no way Bandy should have ever been used as a pinch hitter, but he was forced into that role during Braun's latest "day-to-day" episode. Braun has never been a fast healer, so I think this was pretty clear roster mismanagement that proved costly. I’m really okay with giving a guy a few days before DL time. Had it continued into this weekend then I would agree. Three games really isn’t that much considering it was reported that he was taking BP and such. Just not sure it was a clear cut DL. Feels like we are really grasping at straws to blame Counsell for losses. Roster management isn't on Counsell. He was simply playing the hand he was dealt. I get that they likely wanted to avoid the DL with Braun to be able to DH him this weekend, but how many times now has a guy gotten hurt this year, only to sit in "day-to-day" purgatory before being DL'd? I'm just saying it would have been better seeing Choi take that pinch hit AB than Bandy.
  10. I'm not a huge fan of sideline reporters in general, but if the network feels they need to have one, she does a fine job with it. I would say she's even provided a decent news tidbit here and there. Plus, putting a pretty girl on camera every few innings certainly isn't going to hurt ratings with the demographic typically tuned into Brewer games, so I get why they do it. She seems knowledgable about the team, though, and the players seem to like and respect her, which I imagine in that role doesn't always happen. Now, if the conversation were to turn to Craig Coshun's Pizza Ranch Chocolate Cactus Bread commercial, my feelings would skew much more negatively

  12. we need his DH bat against Minny He should be in the AL and hitting DH full time at this point in his career. As long as HE doesn't realize that, he'll be a Brewer.
  13. You have a point there. The idiots at ESPN seem to have a thing for Bryant and anything Cowboy-related. I just think that if the price was right, the risk really isn't substantial.
  14. He has a big workhorse-type body and throws in the mid-90s. He's also had minor league success. Unfortunately the team hasn't developed many of those types over the last few years, so maybe the Woodruff hype train is steaming ahead a little too quickly.
  15. Ugh, I so want Woodruff to be a useful pitcher, but he just gets smacked around. I hope he can eventually figure it out. It took Nelson awhile.
  16. Not if they DFA him. Sorry not sorry. Can the chances of something happening actually be a negative percentage? I kid, but in reality, I can't foresee that happening.
  17. I always got the feeling that Bryant was more intense and ultra-competitive than a locker room nuisance. Commitment has never been an issue I don't believe.
  18. Exactly! The rookies give the team a lot of theoretical depth, but when was the last time a rookie WR came in and had a large impact as anything more than a #4-ish complimentary threat? Probably going back to Sterling Sharpe. This team is one Davante injury from throwing Geronimo Allison out there at the #1 guy. Playing Cobb anywhere other than the slot has proven unsuccessful.
  19. Well, end of June sounds much, much better than that speculative late July/August/September guess.
  20. My opinion - Being scared off by one deal that didn't work out is how teams become mediocre. Good teams continue to take chances. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't. If we're only talking a 1-year deal, though, there is little risk.
  21. Just heard a tidbit this morning that the Packers do have interest in Dez Bryant. The team is obviously very confident in Davante Adams (or they wouldn't have signed him to that big contract), but would view Bryant as protection should Adams suffer another concussion. They believe that Bryant isn't the same receiver he was 5 years ago, but that part of his regression numbers-wise is the downgrade and difference in play style from Romo to Prescott. They believe he'd be a large upgrade athletically to Jordy Nelson, though. The question is whether Bryant would accept a $6-7 million one-year deal, and whether he believes he will be able to recuperate his value as a complimentary receiver to Adams and even Graham.
  22. Won't be the last you hear of him. He'll be managing in someone's minor league system soon enough. He's extremely bright, and has got a personality that players are drawn to. He could move up the managing ladder quick if that's the route he chooses to go. He'd also make a very good commentator or color guy.
  23. This team's inability to effectively use the 10-day DL is frustrating. If any of those guys go on the DL within the next couple days, it's going to be even more frustrating.
