It depends on the team we are playing but odds are we would go with Lauer just to give them a LH to change it up. Houser and Lauer are about even in my mind.

We got off the schneid on shutouts last night and today Burnes needs 11 K's to become the first to get 200 since I believe Gallardo in 2012.

Shutouts still matter no doubt he gets a shot at it. Unlikely guy to break our drought but seems to have the stuff tonight.

Yeah pretty much everyone knew their playbook and it wasn't all that complex to start with, MM was coasting. Disappointing that the Mertz era hasn't opened things up. Still a game we should have won playing Badger ball, no excuse for the late fumble or the early false start on first and goal. Really tough one to take, I brought up an Iowa game from a few years ago but I think that was just one botched red zone drive not 3.

Maybe should have spiked it and put it all on 4th down and done some sort of short hail mary.

I mean sheesh that wasn't even in the endzone, had no chance. Yuck. Game was there for us.

What an awful loss this is going to be. I had very little hope we would score after the fumble and we weren't even close.

I mean I want to believe but tough to see this team coming back. Have a huge lead in time of possession and it's PSU going 10-0 run in the 4th.

It seems like it has been years since the Badgers had a reliable kicker. I am guessing the SEC teams have a lot more to offer these days so we get the leftover garbage when it used to seem like and edge we could get.

If we lose a close one it's going to hurt after those 2 red zone debacles. Didn't we lose an early Iowa game like this at home a few years back?

I mean even 3-0 would feel pretty good the way the D is playing and we should be able to wear down that D with the run. But nothing, and both drives blown up by stupid meltdowns.

Seemed like some poor plays run on those passes, running guys right into traffic over the middle and hoping to thread one in there. We are going to need the defense to play great all game in this one, doesn't feel like we will score 20.

I would have assumed so but looked him up on bref, 10x all star, 8 gold gloves but only 41.7 career WAR. I can't find a HOF catcher with that low a WAR, even Ted Simmons had 50. Edit: current WAR is identical to Jason Kendell

Sort of like the NFL you wonder how sure they really have to be, I was about 97% sure he was safe. Game deciding call it turns out..
