  1. Well, he did score one run without giving away an out...I'll eat my hat. We need to pile on when we can with our staff (glad to see Yo out regardless)
  2. Dare to dream. At least we put Cy Balester in line for the loss.
  3. We've lowered Balester's ERA by a run so far today. I hate what this team does to Yo.
  4. The way Yo's looking so far and the way our offense is cuffed, this feels like a real "wheels coming off" kinda game. I've learned not to invest too much hope in day games with Yo though.
  5. Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought the Brewers had a chance to make a run there with a man on and Prince up. A particularly disappointing inning (and that's saying something).
  6. Wow, no one in the chat room? I guess a meaningless late season blowout to the Nationals can clear any room pretty quickly.
  7. Thanks for clarifying the error. Although I guess it's pretty meaningless at this point. So is the fact that the Brewers seem to be handcuffed by a young hack as happens with them. Brewers' pitching giving up barells of runs, check. Fire Chris Bosio.
  8. I tuned in a little late...what did Escobar do to goof the double play? Could be worse I suppose, but those Belliard RBIs were brutal
  9. I can say at the least that I'm glad I managed to see every Brewers' run tonight. Wish Cam had gotten the cycle. I'd really like to see him back next season, I think he's a great influence.
  10. I might stop in in a bit...right now I'm trying avoidance strategy, and started watching preseason NFL
  11. Dibble just commented upon Burns leaving after 3, "Ken Macha has to manage these games a little different than Jim Riggleman...they're still trying to get into the playoffs." Really, Dibs?
  12. Do the everyday guys even speak with most of the pitching staff any more? (Does Yo speak with the everyday guys?)
  13. Mike Burns drives me up a wall. And man, Ronnie Belliard is up there with my least favorite ex-Brewers. Turning to spit? Come on.
  14. Wow. Are you eating nothing but ramen and dented cans of peas?
  15. Payday is next Saturday. I will gladly pay you then for some brewerfan today. Crummy jokes aside, thanks much.
  16. Yeah, I didn't get that line of thinking either, unless it was a service time issue which I am admittedly generally ignorant about. I wouldn't mind seeing Rivera and Salome split starts next year, and like crewcrazy said, at the least there's a better chance we see Salome in Milwaukee next month.
  17. Hmm, seems that'd increase the likelihood of Salome here next year?
  18. Yeah, that's my impression too when I read it. Seems to me like a very convenient excuse to blame his sucking on his contract rather than himself. It also seems like a PR savvy thing to say in case Mariners fans are reading. But frankly as a Brewers fan, it's a very annoying thing for me to hear him say that.I don't know, he basically said he lapsed into some very bad habits because he was pushing. Which was likely the case. Bill Hall was the one up there hacking at garbage, not his contract, and he didn't say otherwise. Guess it didn't bother me that much.
  19. I've got a friend of mine who always makes the hoary old joke, "A bad day at the ballpark always beats a good day at the office." I don't really believe that; for one, the ballpark doesn't pay me. Quite the opposite. I know I haven't invested as much as many here, but I spent a ton to see them all three games here in SF for the opening series, traveled to see them in San Diego, went and saw them at MP, bought the Extra Innings package, paid for the merchandise, yadda yadda, and there's been more exasperation than joy for my dollar this year. Money aside, I will miss watching the Brewers after the end of next month, but mostly I'm really looking forward to "the off-season game." I think the Brewers still have a sizable window the next couple seasons, and I think this off-season will be key. And because of that window, I'm already looking forward to April 2010. I guess bottom line, I'm still enjoying baseball right now (I like watching the Giants, and I hope Tampa Bay or Seattle make a run, too), but not the Brewers right now. If they can make a run in September at .500, I'll enjoy that. Right now it's just kinda depressing.
  20. Congrats!
  21. My Prince-Weeks-Hardy-Hall nesting dolls don't have the same sheen they once did. My '07 and '06 (and '05 for that matter) Brewers schedule magnets mock me.
  22. Well, to be fair, that was prompted by Corey's appendectomy. But yeah, why not bring up Bourgeois at the time instead and let Hall work on his swing in AAA to be trade bait for off-season? And like jeffyscott said, now they had this artificial deadline to try and get something/anything for him. I'm not on the Fire DM bandwagon quite yet, but this was a bit of a head-scratcher.
  23. I kinda think people's anger here about these supposed rumored deals (none of which, outside the Reds rumors, seemed to have much smoke around them) is like Michael Crabtree wanting be paid as a Top 5 pick in the NFL Draft even though he was 10th because that's what the mock drafts had him at. As far as we know, the Reds wanted us to pay the lion's share of both Hall and Haranag/Arroyo's deal.
