  1. Your trades are solid but I don't like spending $13 million on 2 washed up bench players. I would much rather just add 1 really good hitter like Joc Pederson to DH. The Singer trade is ok if you believe in Singer, but I wouldn't phrase trading Sal as selling high. I think there is still the upside to hit near .300 with like 40 doubles and to still have the great baserunning and gold glove defense.
  2. His defense took a big jump, at 3B in 2021 -5, 2022 -13, 2023 -10, last year +7. He also had 44 2B and reduced strikeouts to 86, so his ops+ was 10 points higher. For me, the bat has been consistent and there is some power potential that hasn't been realized. I think he still has 30 HR potential like when he was drafted, especially at AFF. He would be a slightly risky add with his struggles at the end of the year and past defensive liabilities. However he is probably the best 3B that we could add within our means. If he has a 30 HR year he could be a guy who could be in line for that coveted QO and net a pick down the road as well.
  3. I haven't listened to episode 1 yet but hear are mine. 1) What do we do with the overload of seemingly talented pitchers, especially at AA/AAA by my count there are 8/9 guys who could be AAA starters and like 18 guys who could be relievers. On top of that we have only begun adding minor league contracts. 2)Who are the dark horse pop out of no where prospects for next year. I am looking for deep cuts if possible. 3) With like 7/8 guys preforming at or above Chourio/Lara/Yophery level in the ACL how many players skip rookie ball from the Dominican league and how many might be like Di Turri and get promoted like 20 games in. 4)Not really a question but more a segment. I think it is always nice to have a fun/comedic section on podcasts maybe like a wild facts/stats from the minors or weirdest minor league team names. Like a top 10 or something like that This is a great idea, hope you get lots of listens. I dont have x but will need to get it to listen.
  4. What would everyone think about trading Devin to the Cubs (for a slightly larger, in division fee)? The Cubs badly need a closer and have a decent farm system. On one hand, I don't want to help the Cubbies but on the other feel like if we could get a higher return I could live with going against Devin for 4 or 5 innings next year. Devin and a mid level prospect for Nico Hoerner would interest me, for some reason the Cubs are looking at trading Nico. He would be a guy I wouldn't mind moving Brice of 2B for (unless we think Nico could play 3B). I wouldn't mind James Triantos, Matt Shaw, or Cam Smith even if we have to send a decent prospect back.
  5. Eh, I would rather go after Jorge Mateo or Ramon Urias if we are looking at the O's excess IF depth.
  6. Pass, I'd rather give Dunn, Frelick, Mone, Collins, etc. AB's over Wisdom.
  7. I wouldnt have a problem with getting Leiter for Williams but I would need a decent 2nd piece that would have comp pick value. Leiter does have some top of the rotation potential but hasn't had anything close to good enough result. I like going for the upside moves with how well our organization has developed talent. I don't get the Paul DeJong stopgap, there are a bunch of better options in my opinion. I kind of like Jon Berti as a low cost trade option with some great upside if we dont take a big swing at a 3rd bademan. He hits well, plays a solid 3rd, and has great speed. I doubt he would cost more than a low level prospect and his arby is probably like 3-4 million. Oliver Dunn or Frelick could even get some reps without hurting anything.
  8. I put Pratt in Wisconsin but kind of prefer he starts in Carolina. The AAA/AA bullpen is really tough to figure out and guessin the A ball pitching staff is going to be tricky Mason Molina should be in a+ but there really isn't a rotation spot
  9. Help me out here on a potential depth chart, I've tried to keep up to date with cuts and free agents but here is what I have so far. Maybe someone who knows better can make adjustments as I will likely forget someone important or add someone who is not on the roster currently. I get with infielders there will be a lot of move position to position as well. At DH I am just putting in relivant players not really who will DH. AAA AA A+ A C Quero Miller/Wood Dinges Ordonez/Norman (inj) 1B EMJ/Clarke Adams/Wilken Burke Bitonti/Barrios 2B Dunn/Collin Arienamo Guillarte/Baez Adamczecski/T Rodriguez SS Zamora/Murray/Hall EBJ/Garcia Pratt (AA?) Middendorf, McGee, McWilliams, D Garcia, Nittoli, McKendry, Stallings, Holub, R Smith AA Rotation=Hunt, Wichrowski, Kuehner, Crow, Cornielle, Fitzpatrick Pen=Yeager, Manfredi, Gardner, Merkel, Childers, Bowman, Rudy, Bryant, Cruz, Knarr A+ Rotation=Knoth, Letson, Manny Rodriguez, Birchard, Galindez, Woodward Pen= Jimenez, Aquino, D Sanchez, Y Rodriguez, Rund, Rivero, Figuero, Maldonado, Timmerman, Low A Rotation=Meccage, T Smith, W King, E Cortez, M Molina, Welch, DeBerry, Robinson (INJ) Pen=Flores, Reyes, Hernandez, Holbrook, Seppings, Garcia, Morelo, Broca, Briceno, B Johnson, Hardin, Vallecillo Let me know who gone, who I missed and who you think will be in a different level. Obviously the pitching side is loaded and pretty difficult to figure out.
  10. I agree, this could mean something, hopefully there were enough other coaches that picked his thoughts and learned a few of his tricks and philosophies. However, my thought is that reading hitting charts and tendencies is pretty straight forward, you just need someone dedicated and with a sound logic.
  11. Happy for him and the entire staff. He was a little iffy to start but after the 1st couple months I think he did a pretty great job.
  12. The Phillies have Stott, Turner, and Sosa and as mentioned before are seriously looking at Bregman. Turner needs a position change, defensively he is one of the worst SS. In theory they could be in on Willy or Kim as well but I haven't seen any rumors like that. The Phillies probably will sign a couple relievers but Clay Holmes isn't/shouldn't be a closer on a world series team. Devin is unquestionably a top 3 closer in the game and Bohm is maybe a borderline top 10 3B depending on who you ask. I don't think anyone truly knows what the secondary pieces in a Bohm/Williams deal would be but they are pretty close in overall value as sveumrules pointed out and there is a 2 way needs match.
  13. Josue Briceno is having a great AFL, he probably ends up a 1B instead of a C. Hao-Yu Lee is a smooth 2B prospect that has a hitter profile we seem to like. Ty Madden has some upside but was rough last year. Obviously Jace Jung would be great if they sign Bregman, we would likely need to add something. Briceno, Lee, and Workman would be a nice package with no highend pieces.
  14. Love this, good arm with good stuff. Some little adjustment can make a huge change here. I am thinking he will be our Enoli Paredes from last year.
  15. Neuge was a polarizing prospect who had sky high potential but his career was destroyed by a devastating rotator cuff surgery at 22. He only pitched 61 innings for the Brewers but showed ace potential if he would be able to get his control problems under wraps. Neugebauer attended Arlington High School in Riverside, California, and was drafted out of there by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 56th pick in the 2nd round of the 1998 amateur draft. he was promptly signed to a contract on August 27, 1998. In 1999, in A ball, he pitched 80.1 innings with a 3.90 era 125/80 k/bb. Wait that is nothing in 2000 between High A and AA he through 128 innings with 4.01 era and a 174/134 k/bb, yes this guy walked more than a batter per inning his 1st 2 years and was still thought of as a top mlb/organizational pitcher. In 2021 he showed some command improvement pitching 131 innings with a 3.10 era and a 175/61 k/bb. He made his mlb debut at the end of the year pitching 12 innings in 2 games. Go to 5:40 mark to see a couple pitches and how good his stuff looked in his major league debut. The whole clip is actually a pretty cool blast from the past and the Adam Dunn defense and way the Reds analyst describe the games are great. I remember being a kid and watching that mlb debuting and how psyched I was for this guy to join Ben Sheets. Neugebauer was on the Brewers' major league roster at the start of the 2002 season, projected as the fifth starter in their five-man rotation. At the inception of this season, Baseball America ranked him the seventeenth best prospect in all of baseball and Milwaukee's top prospect. Hampered by a rotator cuff injury suffered during the season, Neugebauer would finish the season with a dismal record of 1 win and 7 losses in 55.1 innings pitched with a 4.72 earned run average. Neugebauer underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery on February 28, 2003, causing him to miss the entire 2003 season. In a brief comeback attempt with the Brewers' "A advanced" affiliate – the High Desert Mavericks – in 2004, Neugebauer gave up two earned runs on one hit in one inning of work in his only start of the season, finishing him with an 18.00 earned run average for the year. He was released by the Brewers on September 10, 2004 and eventually retired from the sport last pitching at the age of 23. The what-ifs will always be there for me and my favorite player at least for a year or so. Nuege forever.

  17. I will say that I didn't look at Cortez's stats and thought he had a rougher year in the 4's era. I definitely would need to add a decent prospect for that deal.
  18. 1) Williams and Chad Patrick for Alec Bohm 2)Rhys to NYY for Nestor Cortes 3)Black, Peguero, and Tate Kuehner for Yandy Diaz 4)Hoby to Tex for lower level prospect 1)LF Chourio 2)C Contreras 3)DH Yeli 4)1B Diaz 5)3B Bohm 6) CF Mitchell 7)2B Turang 8) SS Ortiz 9)RF Frelick C: William Contreras ($7.60M) 1B: Yandy Diaz ($10.00M) 2B: Joey Ortiz ($0.80M) 3B: Alec Bohm ($8.1M) SS: Brice Turang ($0.80M) LF: Jackson Chourio ($4.25M) CF: Garrett Mitchell ($0.80M) RF: Sal Frelick ($0.80M) DH: Christian Yelich ($24.25M) 4th OF: Blake Perkins ($0.80M) Utility: Andrew Monasterio ($0.80M) Utility: Dunn/Collins/EMJ ($0.80M) Backup C: Eric Hasse ($1.80M) NA: Add Dead Money Here ($8.75M) SP1: Freddy Peralta ($8.25M) SP2: Aaron Civale ($8.00M) SP3: Tobias Myers ($0.77M) SP4: Brandon Woodruff ($5.00M) SP5: Nestor Cortez ($8.30M) RP: Bryan Hudson ($0.80M) RP: Trevor Megill ($2.00M) RP: Nick Mears ($0.90M) RP: Jared Koenig ($0.80M) RP: Craig Yoho ($0.80M) RP: Joel Payamps ($2.80M) RP: DL Hall ($0.8M) RP: Aaron Ashby ($3.45M) NA: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 13.06% under budget
  19. You could add the money we paid in buyouts, pretty sure that counts against this year's ledger. Sanchez 4, Montas 2. Miley 1.5, Rea 1, Devin .25 total=8.75
  20. I think adding Crow wouldn't make sense. No team is going to take a guy that pitched 24 innings the past 2 years in AA and doesn't have a big arm. If someone does draft him there is almost mo chance they would keep him on the big league roster all year. I would keep Smith and Patrick based on performance and Smith's reliever ability. Patrick was the best AAA pitcher last year, look at how valuable Tobias Myers was. I would keep EMJ if their is roster space, like Crow I doubt he would get drafted but he has way more upside to risk it.
  21. I like Tait and some of the younger prospects but it really is Bohm or bust from Philly.
  22. I think the Pads would good team to get to overpay for Devin however there system has been gutted. I would say someone like Jadher Arienamo who is a borderline top 20 prospect in our system would be like their 4th/5th prospect. They just drafted him but Kash Mayfield would be the only guy I would think of unless they package like 4 lower ranked guys which I don't really like because of our system depth.
  23. I will say that I think Whisenhunt is going to be good, I believe that AAA division is notoriously hitter friendly (I could have the wrong one) 141 k's in 109 innings. My part about him being a potential impact player is a stretch at least for this year, his walks are way higher than I thought. I do believe there is a good trade to be had for Williams with the Giants. Would Robbie Ray (giants eat like 12 million a year) and Lamonte Wade be to much to ask or maybe Wade and Camilo Doval for like Williams and a prospect. What do you all think the price for say Yandy Diaz would be if we could get rid of Rhys. I don't care much about the Lowe end of my proposal earlier but upgrading Rhys to Diaz would be huge. 3 prospects? Black and Henderson? More
  24. I would love Lewis or Lee but my guess is they go 1B Miranda, 2B Lewis, SS Correa, 3B Lee. Eduoard Julien could be available at a lesser price but he has enough question marks, I love their 2B prospect Luke Keaschall but he is only in AA so that doesn't work at least this year.
  25. I am struggling here? Does this say Civale has more trade value than Freddie or Turang.
