  1. Does anyone know if Jomboy has talked about the Judge slide or yesterday's fiasco, not that lip reading has been needed. I will look
  2. If Uribe is suspended for say 3-5 games are we allowed to replace his roster spot? Could we even demote him if he is suspended?
  3. Crazy, crazy, crazy On top of that it was a really weak fight. Like 10 punches/slaps and no one really connected. If you going to be suspended for a week at least get your moneys worth.
  4. No doubt, .300 hitting, gold glove defense, and if my math is right he is on pace for over 70 stolen bases. Damn.
  5. Millet was sent down for Black if no one has already mentioned it.
  6. Black in for Sanchez (injury) already. Weimer with a great catch in left probably robbing a HR.
  7. I think that Miley is going to move to the 60 man.
  8. I can live with that I guess, need to get a clubhouse worker to swap out hats for the presser though.
  9. Did anyone mention that when Pat Murphy did his press conference after the game one of his kids had a Cardinals hat on? What the,,, Murphy lost a ton of credibility instantly from me, unless there is a good explaination.
  10. Looks like Tyler Black is coming up. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/04/brewers-expected-to-promote-tyler-black.html Wonder if he will be active tonight. My guess is that Bauers or Weimer are sent down.
  11. Is anyone else get faint Josh Hader circa 2018 (1st full year) from Bryan Hudson, obviously he doesn't have the crazy strikeout stuff. From what I understand he get so much extension that his 92 feels like 96 or so. Maybe it's just the ultra efficient multi-inning top notch location from a funky lefty but I can't stop with the Hudson love. I think we are at a point where Bryce Wilson is a starter until further notice, dude has been solid minus the 1st 3 hitters last night.
  12. Early in the year when our pitching was bad the hitting was amazing and when the offense was weak the pitching was better by a run. At this point it seems like out luck has switched, happens in a 162 game season.
  13. This makes a ton of sense, filling the holes as AAA guys go to the bigs and every guy moving up would be justified.
  14. Great point, Verlander makes a lot more sense than the higher value young guys. Verlander and they eat 1/2 his remaining salary for an couple intermediate prospects/pieces (at mid-season).
  15. What about sending an OF to KC? They currently have an OF of Melendez (.195/.275/.677) Isbal (.211/.250/.592), Renfroe (.149/.213/.483) and Velasquez (.222/.292/.638) and could really use an upgrade or two. Obviously I am looking at a trade when Mitchell and Yeli get healthy, By then Weimer will have hopefully regained some value and net a top Royals prospect, they could also use 2B/3B help IE Miller or Monesario. Could be a solid win/win.
  16. I agree they shouldn't sell off but they are at a bit of a crossroad. Currently their salary is around 230 million, Bregman and Verlander are free agents and Tucker, Valdez, Pressley (option),and Urquidy in 2 years. They can afford to keep a couple but then will still likely be paying their bats a massive amount compared to the starting pitchers (pen makes a lot with Hader, Montero, Graveman, and Pressly). I don't think they would sell the farm but at some point the Astros will have some hard financial questions to solve. If they continue to have pitching issues (injuries) and end up under .500 and are paying Abreu, McCullers, Hader, and Pressley large amounts for little production. Add on top of that one of the worst farm systems in the league and they will be forced to do something sooner rather than later.
  17. For me just his hand extending straight up makes it illegal. He was 100% out, no one has every accidentally slid with there hand up in the way of a throw on accident. It isn't a natural slide, was this review able? I didn't watch the game and was listening at that point.
  18. I would say no for now but if he is struggling for another week I would say yes. I know the Brewers don't want to mess with the 40 man roster spot but Joey Wiemer should have never been called up Brewer Hicklen has been great in AAA and spring training and has earned a mlb shot.
  19. If the Astros keep stinking I would love to make a move for Christian Javier or Frambar Valdez. Javier has an affordable contract through 27' and Valdez has 1 more arby year. My guess is both would cost 3ish prospects, maybe 1 higher end for Javier. Jesus Luzardo is still the only obvious proven top of the rotation at this point. Fedde would be great, the White Sox have been so bad maybe even an early season deal is possible with his value up. Would something like EBJ and a lower value pitcher (like James Meeker) be to much to give up for him for 6 good starts.
  20. So basically all of the 2023 college pitchers, I can see that. Agreed 100% on Hall. Here is a list of top performers that could get a promotion by say mid season. Mis, Blalock, Wichrowski, Woessner, Yeager, Barrios, Wood, Lara, Boeve (if he stays on fire). Any one to add to that group maybe some one like Eric Bitonti could go to Carolina like Baez/Gullarte catches fire and gets an early promotion as well.
  21. I would love to move Misi quickly but I worry about his arm. I think at least a couple in AA and like 5 in AAA then if he looks go piggies back him. I would think we don't want him to go much more than 100-120 innings. Misi might be a big help but I worry if we try and make him the solution he will get hurt and not be the same. Gasser is close and then Junis a bit after that (in long relief). If we can limp to the all star break we can probably find a trade.
  22. It seems like I have heard a bunch of names in the minor league reports who seem ready for a promotion. A few already have moved. The two I remember are KC Hunt and Craig Yoho, beside Black potentially. Anyone else to discuss?
  23. So excited for an early game, I have a boring 2nd half of my work day on a computer so this is going to be great.
  24. I would still give him some AAA time and hope he picks up 1B well. It kind of depends on if the big league club starts hitting, if our struggles continue I might be advocating for him to come up in a week and DH (occasional 1B or LF) to jump start the offense. If things go perfectly and the offense comes back I would hope that maybe come June his glove would be up to the task and we could give him Bauers and Sanchez's combined AB's (if they both are hitting under .200). I think our perfect lineup by the end of the year should be 1)CF Sal 2)C Contreras 3)LF Yeli 4)SS Willy 5)DH/1B Black 6)1B/DH Rhy 7)2B Brice 8) RF Chourio 9) 3B Ortiz bench)Mitchell, Perkins, Dunn/Miller/Monte, Sanchez/Haase/Mejia
