  1. Interesting move, he hasn't been anything special in Appleton. Only 22 at bats. Is this just because they had to have a body in the OF due to so many departures?
  2. If true, my bad, I over reacted on that detail, but I'm still against moving Peters and Kelly for those two guys.
  3. According to who? I get it if that is your opinion, but it sounds like you are stating facts. Are you basing that on rankings? If so, imo, rankings mean nothing. We gave up two promising guys from the farm, one of which, Peters, has been nothing short of excellent all season long. Kelly has met some rough patches, but the dude is the real thing. (imo of course) What did we get back? A guy on the IL who might be able to pitch this season (I think giving up Peters for him is absolutely appalling, and I really can't believe it happened, (it reeks of the Norris trade last year, but at least Norris was able to pitch at the time we got him) Bush is meh, a rental that in no way pushes us over the top, AT ALL! I'd much rather have held on to both Kelly and Peters, rather than to trade them for guys who won't be here next year, and don't move a single needle, in any way.
  4. So you want to trade Peralta, who is cheap, under control for years to come, and will more than likely be our ace after Burnes and Woodruff bail? All for less than a 1.5 year rental that probably won't be enough to get us to the world series, especially after giving up our #3 pitcher in Peralta, who could easily be a #1 or #2 for most teams.
  5. Thankfully someone else got him.
  6. and yet, we still didn't win the world series either year. Emptying the farm back then wasn't the same talent levels we'd be emptying curently.
  7. Can play it sure, play it effectively, that would be debatable.
  8. I'm told it isn't the cheesemaking that causes that horrible smell, it's from the papermaking plants, and it is disgusting.
  9. Game thread posting has been way down most of the year, wondering if people just left the website all together when the big change occurred.
  10. I just have to say, I love these threads!!! Keep it up fellas!
  11. Getting a guy like Gallo just feels like making a trade to make a trade. What does he add to this roster that makes us better as a team, and improves our chances of winning? he is striking out at Keston Hiura rates and people want him on the team while Hiura toils away at AAA? Gallo is a name, a disappointing name, and nothing more. If we make a move like this, and give up anything of value, I will be extremely disappointed.
  12. But what about recently, like say 2021 and 2022?
  13. What a ridiculous thing to say. I choose not to even argue a point with someone who assumes without a reason.

  15. Me, I say NOOOOOO!
  16. Plus defender? Isn't a chump with the bat? (I'll say he is maybe an average hitter at best) No interest in this guy, to me, he screams band aid and nothing more. If this is the best we can get to play CF for the rest of this year and the next two, I'm passing hard! Having this guy block Frelick in 2024 and possibly 2023 at some point disgusts me.

  18. How sad is it that he is our best overall hitter with numbers like that? The state of hitting in MLB is downright right pathetic. I realize that when I state the importance of batting average in your top of the order guys, I will also be accused of old time baseball thinking (which is an irritating thing to be accused of, and it happens here all the time to many posters), but it is what it is. Take any of the new stats you want that players are judged on these days, batting average and OBP are still important when it comes to table setters.
  19. The fact that this thread is still going because there are people that think it is possible is insane.

  21. Can't read that link, only available to subscribers ? Can you summarize for us?
  22. Reynolds is soooo over rated in my opinion. He's having a down year and people are willing to give up guys like Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell, Chourio or a combination of them? Multiple organization pillars for a guy having a down year? Man, this would be depressing if we gave away those 4 guys and/or others mentioned. Reynolds isn't that special.
