  1. AND, with the 'W' the Sounds ensure they took their Division in the Second Half. A heck of a finish to their year. They played their best baseball (outside the Durham 1-5 shellacking) when they needed to but the Bulls were just that much better in the second half.
  2. RHP Caleb Boushley snuck into the broadcast booth during last year's finale. Looks like he did it again and he gets the Payton Henry HR shot to boot! Looks like he had Chourio's double to boot:
  3. I haven't seen him today. BUT, he was touching 98 mph in his last two starts at Biloxi. His first outing with the Sounds he was touching 95-97 mph by my eyes (I could be recalling incorrectly).
  4. Just saw the Inactive List. Good grief! J-Love's first Home game ever is going to need a miracle performance. I'm at the place where I come to expect this as a Packers fan so I am not all that bothered by the injuries themselves. It is what it is. And, I certainly don't want injured players getting further injured. BUT, I feel for J-Love in his Home debut. That's rough. More than today's injuries, I remain astounded the Packers think Royce Newman is a plug-and-play back-up LG. That, to me, says all I need about the state of the Packers. Between that and Joe Barry's continued employment, I just have a hard time taking the team all that seriously. And, I sure as heck they prove me wrong. That would be fantastic.
  5. The Brewers will be playing with the Surprise Saguaros this AFL season. Last season, if you recall, they were playing with the Dodgers; Reds (and Matt McLain); White Sox; and Twins on the Glendale Desert Dogs. This season, they'll be paired with the Reds; Rangers; Blue Jays; and Royals.
  6. He pays that back and then some with a great jump and fantastic run down of a screamer with the bases juiced. Sounds squeak one out, improbably, 10-9:
  7. Yeah, it's been really rough. I almost thought Sweetie would PH Devanney there it has been so rough. He's a shell of himself.
  8. Mitchell takes a 1-0 heater in the lower half of the zone and reaches on a fielding error at 1B. 9-9. Bases still full. Chourio to the dish.
  9. Navs walks in 5 pitches. Mitchell to the dish with the bases juiced. Two down.
  10. Dorrian with another 4 K evening. Boy, he's had some rough stretches these past two months after such solid work for the majority of his season.
  11. Roller just smacked a double into LF and we suddenly have Roller at 2B and Black at 3B. Dorrian to the dish (0-for-3, 3K) to be followed by Captain Clutch C Brian Navarreto.
  12. Black is 2-for-3 as he extended his hit streak to a lucky 13 games. Chourio is 1-for-2 with 2 R and 2 BB (0 K).
  13. Anddddd, Abad gave that lead right back to Jacksonville in the top of the 8th. 9-8 Jumbo Shrimp as we head to the bottom of the 8th.
  14. Through 6 IP, Seminaris and Meeker have given up a combined 13 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 1 HR (Seminaris) and 8 ER. Rough awakening to the challenges of Triple-A for the young men. Sounds trail 8-5.
  15. Since September 1st the Brewers have released six catchers. Six. Wild.
  16. With the Sounds 'W' (41-31) they will, divisionally speaking, remain 0.5 G ahead of the St. Paul Saints who beat Toledo 10-6. With the Iowa Cubs loss, they will fall 2.0 GB of the Sounds. Granted these teams are all outside of Playoff contention, but there is still some small amount of pride and clubhouse cheer to play for.
  17. And he just walked them full again...Ruh Roh Raggy!
  18. Some kind of season. He is an incredible offensive weapon.
  19. Karma for Allen who has ripped some rocket line outs this series. 91.3? LOL.
  20. What is, no lead is safe for 'The Chafe'?
  21. Ummmmmm 7-0 in the 2nd?!? What do I choose to complain about? Is it the lack of runs in the first frame? I'll take any and all answers. I need some cope.
  22. Dorrian has never had any issues snagging liners - he's a very athletic and versatile player. Where he's really struggled at shortstop (in 2023, at least) is the errors with routine lateral plays and ball transfers (oddly). I take this as he may be rushing the moment deeper in the hole, so to speak? Regardless, because of how much I like him at 2B and 3B and because of how much better Monasterio has played defensively at the MLB level I kind of defer to the Brewers knowing more than I do here. A utility player has to practice their utility in all the places. Dorrian's OPS suffered during a recent slump. But, he's also been red hot in spurts as well. One of my favorite unheralded acquisitions of the past two years who I have zero doubts could excel if given an MLB opportunity.
