  1. Okay where did you see this because I don't see it on the MiLB transactions page and Holub is still listed on Biloxi's roster Edit: I can confirm Holub is still in AA as I just watched him pitch a 1-2-3 inning for Biloxi.
  2. Wes Clarke really loves hitting against Tampa Bay Rays minor league affiliates. 3 HR this week against Durham and last year he just destroyed Montgomery.
  3. Because at the end of the year there will be no half games as everyone will have 162 games played so you'll need to be a full game ahead of the team that has a tiebreaker over you.
  4. That voodoo walked out the door when Pujols and Yadi retired.
  5. The 2006 Cardinals were 9 games over .500 on August 18th with a run differential 73 runs better than the 2 games under .500 2024 Cardinals. You guys have to let that boogeyman go. Yadi and Pujols aren’t walking back through that door.
  6. Guys the 2023 and 2024 Cards are not the Cards of old. You don't need to be scared of them anymore.
  7. Are you actually worrying about a team that's 11 games behind us on August 18th?
  8. Pratt has a 90th percentile EV of 100 as a 19/20 year old. Made has a 90th percentile EV of 104 as a 17 year old. Obviously Made is facing easier pitching, but he has flashed much bigger tools than both Pratt and Yophery have. Pratt and Yophery to me both seem more like "jack of all trades, master of none" type guys where it's just a lot of 50-55 grade tools and no like clear plus or carrying tool. I agree we need to wait and see Made stateside before we can truly get a great read on him, but right now he's absolutely tracking as a better prospect than Pratt and Yophery which is why he's found his way onto multiple Top 100 lists already as a DSL player which is really difficult.
  9. Well that was quick haha
  10. No you were also right because you said they have to end up with a better record than the Dodgers. Technically the Phillies don't have the tiebreaker over us but they just need to win 1 of 3 in September against us to get it because they swept us earlier this year.
  11. Technically 1.5 because the Dodgers have the tiebreaker over us but both the Phillies and Dodgers are within striking distance.
  12. Really hope Letson is starting today or it would be another week where he was listed as the SP on Saturday all week only to not actually pitch.
  13. I think that's ultimately what he's searching for. On paper his stuff in 2024 is as good as it's ever been, but he's struggled to find both consistency and results. I think he's trying to find what works best for him right now.
  14. Freddy is averaging the highest FB velo if his career this season. He just made an effort to pitch to contact last night
  15. Agreed. The thing with Ashby is that he's still only 18 months removed from shoulder surgery. Hopefully he can make as much progress in the next 6 months as he has in the last 6 months. If so, he very well could find himself on the opening day roster in 2025.
  16. He just made a concerted effort to pitch to contact tonight. Said so in the post game.
  17. Technically 1.5 back of the Dodgers because they have the tiebreaker over us. We also would need to sweep Philly in September to have a chance at the tiebreaker over them. Any loss would give them the tiebreaker, so I'd probably just consider it 1.5 and 2.5 games back.
  18. The fact it wasn't a bad pitch is kind of what scares me about Freddy this year. Even when he's executing pitches well he's managing to give up HR which is a scary proposition to think about for the playoffs.
  19. Some Craig Yoho viewing courtesy of Josh Norris of Baseball America. Get this dude into the MLB bullpen please.
  20. Yeah his velo is way up this year. He put a lot of work in where he trains in the offseason to focus more on creating velocity from his whole body and it's definitely worked.
  21. Hey if anyone wants a nice view of what could be coming to the Brewers bullpen in the next few weeks take a look at Craig Yoho courtesy of Josh Norris.
  22. Koenig just went 1-2-3 with 3 strikeouts against guys putting up these slash lines vs LHP this season. Noel - .250/.306/.750, 181 wRC+ Fry - .304/.459/.598, 192 wRC+ Kwan - .369/.426/.523, 172 wRC+
  23. Mitch White follows up his great start last week by not even getting out of the 1st inning today. That's a bummer.
  24. Personally I think the only lock is Henderson. I think there are arguments for others like Patrick and Smith, but the 40-man is going to be tight this offseason especially if Yoho and/or Misiorowski get added to the 40 for the stretch run.
  25. The fact Mears after tonight has a 4.46 FIP with a 37.5% HR/FB rate is pretty crazy. The 40% K-BB% will definitely do that for you. Such nasty stuff. If he keeps the ball in the park, I think he could be a mainstay among the high leverage arms the next few years.
