  1. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Yerlin Rodriguez is the next Abner Uribe and by that I mean international FA turned potential high leverage reliever prospect. His breaking ball looks absolutely disgusting. The break on it is so late and so sharp. He struck out that one Fireflies hitter with ease getting multiple swings that weren’t even close to being strikes
  2. Why are you surprised the FO would take a longer than 2 months view into perspective? These people have jobs on the line. They can’t think like you do where only the current year matters or they would end up like the Mets and Padres with bloated payrolls with old and underperforming stars.
  3. Show me where I said we would sign an impactful FA. I said it would give us the money to sign a FA bat or 2. I never used to word impactful. You made I gigantic assumption because you can’t help the need to be the site contrarian.
  4. Brewers after today should only be 2 games behind the Dodgers for the 2nd seed in the NL so I wouldn't say we have no hope for getting a first round bye.
  5. I had posted a while back that Houser could be an interesting trade piece for us at the deadline, but with Miley and Woody both on the IL, I would be a bit hesitant to trade him right now. If the staff was fully healthy, I would be all for that type of trade.
  6. Yeesh. That's a horrible precedent to set for a FO. Just basically setting yourself up to get taken to town on every trade if you develop a reputation for trading at "whatever the cost"...Very thankful the Brewers have a responsible FO that isn't blinded by the short term like you clearly are.
  7. Yeah, I would definitely drool over adding Tim Anderson and his mid-50's wRC+ with a 64% ground ball rate. You caught me!
  8. You just listed off so many players who aren't even on the market.
  9. Yes and putting "hesitant to add bats" in your title while ignoring the context is absolutely the definition of a misleading title
  10. Honestly what I read from that is Murray doesn't have good sources. Seems highly improbable that the Brewers would trade their ace's personal catcher in the middle of a divisional race especially because Caratini isn't some highly valuable piece.
  11. Please point out the "All star bats" that are on the market this year.
  12. Probably too much to ask for, but if he could just avoid the blowup outings, it would be awesome. He's had 4 ER or more in 6 of his 20 starts this season. That's just way too much for a guy who has not pitched more than 6.0 innings this season.
  13. You know you really don't have to play devil's advocate or be the contrarian on every single post. Also the 2 SP is such a reach. Teheran is only in the rotation because of injuries. If Brewers kept Woodruff and Burnes they would have Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Ashby, Houser, Rea, Gasser as the 7 deep for the starting rotation. Also the names I listed have combined for -0.9 fWAR this year in that roughly $43M worth of salary, so no it would not be very difficult to replace those names.
  14. Taking a quote out of context and putting it as your title is incredibly misleading. Lame post.
  15. I think this is always how Freddy wants to pitch. The issue is his command comes and goes on his secondary pitches too much which can force him at times to rely too much on his FB.
  16. 4 run leads suck. Feels like more often than not you just end up blowing 2 relievers because the low leverage guy chokes the game into a save situation.
  17. I've also been thinking this as well. Brewers should clear out a decent amoung of salary this offseason with non-tenders and FA, so they might have a bit of money to get a FA bat and hopefully another year of experience for the kids lets them be more impactful next season. Winker - $8.25M Lauer - $5.08M Tellez - $4.95M Urias - $4.7M? Feel unsure of what the future holds for him Anderson - $3.5M Miley - $3.5M Ruf - $3M Caratini - $2.8M? Brewers might consider retaining him as a backup catcher Hiura- $2.2M Voit - $2M Teheran - $1.5M Brosseau - $1.4M That's about $43M that could come off the books this offseason. I don't think the arb raises will come close to reaching that number which should leave the Brewers some room to bring in a bat or 2.
  18. Here are the current xwOBA overperformers (minimum 100 PA) on the Brewers Miller - 307 PA, .297 wOBA vs .287 xwOBA Perkins - 128 PA, .286 wOBA vs .268 xwOBA Monasterio - 107 PA, .339 wOBA vs .320 xwOBA
  19. Devanney got off to a slow start after an injured preseason and late season start. Since the middle of May Devanney is slashing .285/.383/.518 with a 13% BB-rate and 12% K-rate for a 122 wRC+. He also is much better and more versatile defensively than Jones and absolutely crushes LHP.
  20. The problem is where are the promotions from A+ to AA. Just not a lot of guys in Wisconsin who have earned promotions. Martinez has absolutely earned it. I guess you could also push Hall, Miller, Ward, JGJ, Acosta just based on age and how long they have been at A+ but it's just been a mostly underwhelming group at A+ this season.
  21. Totally agree with everything you said here but Yophery turns 18 in December so just off on his age.
  22. Initially I was mad at the send until I remembered Jones was up next.
  23. We drafted Riggio out of HS in 2021 and he was just drafted out of college this year
  24. Watts is committed to Auburn and he's only 1 year removed from HS so I think he needs to play there for 2 years before entering the draft again? Maybe not. Don't understand how that works.
