  1. Yupp. We aren’t Trueblood’s Cubs who can go out and spend $15+M a year on mid-tier FA SP. Brewers are not going to trade their 2 closest to the MLB rotation SP prospects for RP.
  2. Have you just not been paying attention? He’s dramatically improved everything you say he needs to improve. His K-rate over his last 200 PA is 16%
  3. This timeline is so incredibly off for Chourio. He’s going to be in the MLB far sooner than mid-season 2025
  4. The Braves farm system is super weak so don’t read too much into those prospect rankings. Vodnik is a 23 year old RP in AA with a 3.10 ERA and 3.56 FIP. Gordon is a 25 year old SP in AAA with a 5.86 ERA and 4.25 FIP across AA and AAA this year. I’m not sure either of these prospects would be ranked in the Brewers system. Maybe Vodnik would be in the 20’s like Cam Robinson was to start the season
  5. You’re suggesting trading a top 100 SP prospect by Baseball America for a RP who has had mixed results in his MLB career and a good season this year. You’re comparing it to a trade where the Yankees got a RP with an extra year of service time and gave up a weaker prospect at the time. Then you suggest the Brewers should give up a 21 year old who has been one of the best SP in AA this season for a 2 month rental RP. These hypotheticals to me just show a significant misunderstanding of the Brewers roster and minor league system. Burnes, Woodruff, Lauer, Houser, and Miley are all set to be FA in the next 18 months and the Brewers are relatively thin on SP prospects in the upper levels of the minors. Suggesting the Brewers trade their 2 closest to the MLB SP prospects for RP is just a huge red flag not understanding the entire picture of the Brewers system. Meanwhile their top 6 bullpen arms are all Pre-Arb or Arb-1 this season meaning they are still affordable for at least another season.
  6. Someone in the game thread last night wanted to know the catch probability of the d’Arnaud double that deflected off Frelick’s glove. It was 75ft in 4.4 seconds with a catch probability of 5%. Frelick was a few inches away from having caught a 5% and 10% catch probability fly ball in his first 2 MLB games
  7. RP is probably the least pressing Brewers need at the moment. They have 6 very solid bullpen arms with Justin Wilson set to come off the IL shortly and Ashby potentially in the mix at some point in August as well. I’m absolutely not trading Robert Gasser or Carlos Rodriguez for RP as well lol.
  8. Brewers don’t need game changing to have a dramatic impact on the team. Brewers 1B have a 66 wRC+ which is worst in the MLB. Brewers DH have a 69 wRC+ which is also worst in the MLB. Brewers are also 22nd in HR. Upgrading to a league average bat with some pop at those 2 positions would be a dramatic improvement and could easily be a game changer for an offense as bad as ours.
  9. We literally just promoted a Top 100 prospect 2 days ago?? What moves are you expecting?? Zero trades have been made yet for the trade deadline.
  10. Does the AB have to be with the Brewers? Gennett made the All-Star game in Cincy and he was drafted and developed by us
  11. I mean we just DFA'd Tapia and selected Frelick yesterday. What is so different 2 days later?
  12. Bullpen went 29 straight innings scoreless. Can't continue to ask them to bail out our low scoring offense. It was bound to break eventually.
  13. Replay showed Frelick clearly yelling for the ball. Turang needs to give that up because OF always has priority on those plays.
  14. Not many MLB players can routinely hit 400ft opposite field HR and Chourio is doing it as a 19 year old with plenty of filling out still to do.
  15. After the HR today, .207/.329/.345 so probably around like a 75-80 wRC+
  16. I feel like people are reading more into the Wiemer on the bench 2 days in a row thing than needs to be. Wiemer has played a lot this year and hasn't had many days off especially when you consider he's a rookie CF. There isn't a drop off going from Wiemer to Perkins defensively so this is likely just giving Wiemer a couple days off after a long season for him. Very unlikely that he's being traded or benched.
  17. I think they need both 1B and DH. I’m not sold on Tellez coming back and hitting after a pretty gruesome hand injury. The DH doesn’t even have to be a pure DH. Guy could be any position just needs to be able to hit. Edit: Brewers are last in fWAR at both 1B and DH. 1B they are almost 2 times worse than 2nd worst. Those positions absolutely need to be upgraded.
  18. Maybe they don’t need to trade for an OF anymore if Frelick can come in and be a league average hitter from the start. They still need to trade for a 1B and DH though. Preferably the 1B is RHH and can hit LHP. C: Contreras 1B: Trade acquisition 2B: Turang (regardless of how people feel about his bat, seems like Brewers are intent on keeping him in the lineup) 3B: Anderson SS: Adames LF: Yelich CF: Wiemer RF: Frelick DH: Trade acquisition Bench: Caratini, Monasterio, Miller, Perkins Basically they need to trade for 2 bats that could hit 3rd and 4th in our order to slide the Adames/Miller 3/4 duo down in the order.
  19. Did Italian win the Sausage Race in honor of Frelick's debut?
  20. Maybe they just had the crowd mics louder than Bally does, but the atmosphere felt really loud on the TV
  21. This Nolasco guy on the mound for the Cannon Ballers in the 4th inning literally looks like Abner Uribe's little brother. The physical looks and mannerisms literally look identical to Uribe
  22. You can literally send him down at any point over the next multiple seasons and get the extra season. Doing it in the middle of a playoff race when he's our second best OF is just absolutely stupid and would be blatantly obvious service time manipulation.
