  1. Urias is not having a fun time in the WBC so far. 1-10 with a BB and 3 double plays at the plate then a crucial 10th inning error in their loss vs Columbia.
  2. If I got to make the call, Sal Frelick would be our opening day RF. Naquin has looked rough this spring and Perkins is clearly not ready for the MLB.
  3. Bratt faced at minimum probably 4 future HoFer in Trout, Goldschmidt, Arenado and Betts. Seeing him on the verge of tears was brutal.
  4. Uribe assigned to AA is interesting. Counsell was pretty open about Uribe starting the year in the minors, but surprised to see it all the way down in AA and not AAA.
  5. Alex Hall having a heck of a day for Australia in the win and guaranteed to advance game 2-4 3B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R with Australia currently up 6-1
  6. DeRosa using Devin Williams down 11-2 is certainly a choice.
  7. Why do we need a 2nd LHP on roster? Suter was our only LHP who was in a flexible role in 2021.
  8. I asked Eno Sarris (creator of stuff+) about Carlos Rodriguez stuff+ numbers yesterday. His overall stuff+ was 92.5 and his best pitch was the cutter with a 114 stuff+. I loved what I saw from Carlos Rodriguez. The confidence and calm he displayed on the mound pitching against a team with 8 MLB players in the lineup was very noticeable. If he can continue improving the stuff, I definitely think he can be a mid-rotation starter in the MLB.
  9. Haven't you been pretty vocal on how disapointing it is that the Brewers haven't yet extended at least one of Adames, Burnes, Woodruff? All 3 of those potential extensions would take them past the age of 32.
  10. A bad team hoping he could be a reclamation project maybe?
  11. Brutal days for Rowdy and Luis today for Mexico. Rowdy 0-5. Luis 0-4 and a 10th inning error that allowed the go-ahead run to score for Colombia.
  12. Impressive outing for Carlos Rodriguez. Absolutely looked the part against an MLB lineup. 4 IP, 2 H (both seeing eye ground balls), 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO, 1 HBP. The run should have never scored. Nicaragua's 2B blew a routine double play which would have ended the inning. Here's the clip of the blown double play.
  13. Panama ends up winning 2-0. Sal Frelick went 2-4 with a 2B for Italy. Javy Guerra picked up the save for Panama going 1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO.
  14. Piazza sent him out for the 4th. Walk, Double Play, Strikeout. Final line 4 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO
  15. Think Vassalotti is probably done after his 3rd inning. If so his final line is 3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO. He gave up a monster HR to Jose Ramos (a Dodgers prospect). Solid job from him.
  16. Michele Vassalotti is starting for Italy tonight against Panama. He had a 2.64 ERA for the Mudcats last year in A ball.
  17. Carlos Rodriguez will be starting for Nicaragua in their WBC opener against Puerto Rico. Awesome moment for the young prospect.
  18. Right hamstring tightness for Mitchell. Absolutely hate seeing this with his soft tissue injury history.
  19. Mitchell made the last catch in the 2nd inning and didn't come back into the field for the 3rd inning. With his injury history, hope it is just a precaution and nothing serious.
  20. Completely agree. Especially post Lux injury as well. SS is a huge question mark for them now. I think Padres should definitely be favorites in the West and it would not shock me if the Dodgers missed the playoffs this year.
  21. Wasn't a great showing at the plate for Frelick yesterday. 1-5 with 3 infield pop ups and 2 grounders (one making it through for a single).
  22. Miller's arm feels very problematic in a game that seems to be trending towards having more steals. You can improve framing/blocking. Can't really make a guy's arm significantly better through training.
  23. I’d give Adames the contract Dansby Swanson or Javier Baez got, but I have the feeling he doesn’t want to accept those deals. If he could combine his Brewers 2021 bat and 2022 defense he would be worth top tier money, but I’m not sure that’s ever going to happen for him
  24. Adames is seemingly asking for top of the line SS money despite a career wRC+ of 111, a career best xwOBA of .325, and walk/strikeout numbers that paint a picture towards a hitter that might not age well.
  25. Mariners perfectly behaved and not at all annoying. What a combo!
