Maybe this is a hot take and it is a bit more negative, but I just don't get the hype with Wichrowski. I think there's a good pitcher in there but for someone who is lauded for having such good stuff he just doesn't get swing and miss or strikeouts at the AA level.
Nice outing by DeBerry. 4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO. He stranded a 1 out double with two strikeouts in the 4th inning. The 4 innings and 54 pitches are both pro highs for DeBerry as he continues to stretch out after a delayed start to the year.
Bjorn Johnson will enter in the 5th. I imagine the hope is for him to go 3-4 innings as well.
I thought this was really notable. Longenhagen said Hayden Robinson is slated to be back in game action soon. I thought it was weird maybe even a mistake when Robinson was listed on the ACL Brewers 7-day IL and not on the 60-day or full-season IL. Maybe he's actually going to be pitching here soon?
I definitely think he should be making his next start for the Brewers. Set him to debut at home against the Orioles on Wednesday like you said. Brewers currently have an open 40-man spot.
I don't always agree with Longenhagen's evals but honestly the only thing I don't like is that because he's so thorough with his prospect reviews you really only get the 1 time a year update (outside of his Top 100ish) By the end of the season a lot of the stuff can begin to feel dated.
I've been underwhelemed with Yoho's 2025. His command has really taken a step back this year. Just really battling the feel for his pitches and as a guy who throws a really soft changeup/curveball feel is so important.
My goodness Misiorowski just threw a 103.0mph FB in a 3-2 count with runners on 2nd and 3rd to get a strikeout and get out of the 6th inning. Yes he just threw a 103.0mph FB on pitch 78 in the 6th inning. This guy is absolutely absurd.
He's played a couple games in the OF corner and no 3B. Though I don't see why he couldn't handle 3B or the corner OF. Personally I'd like to see them trying him out at more positions defensively because he seems like a guy who can be a legit MLB bench player so that added flexibility could be really important.
Seigler just hit another bomb. Less of a Memphis special as well as he really cranked this one (105 EV, 26 LA). Dunn follows it up with a triple off the wall in left center (similar to AmFam) that shot towards right center. He was sent home and for whatever reason chose not to slide and was out at home. If he slides he's safe with an inside the park HR.
I honestly just do not have words for how quickly Misiorowski's control has improved. It's like it just clicked for him overnight. Through 3 innings today he's at 3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO. 34 pitches, 27 strikes with a 62% zone rate!!
Not how it works. You have to actually be optioned to burn an option year. You could still be optioned even if your service time was at 4.160 if you had an option.
I think that's probably the thing I want to happen least. I'd most want them to figure things out and get into the playoff race, but if that's not an option then I want them to stink and sell.
If we were to trade Freddy to the Dodgers at the deadline, I'd imagine the ask for the Brewers starts with one of Hope/De Paula. Do the Dodgers do that? I think probably a bit unlikely though if they love Freddy you never know.
