  1. Yeah...kinda. You also trade back if you have 5 guys with similar grades. There's just something about Peter that's annoying.
  2. Yeah, a big, physical corner who excels in press man as you're moving to a press man scheme? Not here quite yet. Wiggins feels like one of their types of players. I just want to speak that into existence. Guyton feels like a Dallas type player(he reminds me of Tyron Smith, he's just raw).
  3. LOL...exactly. Just because Gute seems to do the opposite that is expected of him. Fautanu is the first guy I hate to see go. He was a plug and play stud OG and a future LT...IMO. Miami probably would have taken him though. I hope Wiggins goes to Philly.
  4. Yeah, I'm just skeptical of these "late reports," that may impact longevity. I'd think the Packers would have brought him in, but perhaps he's not even on their board. How often do we find out after the fact, a team didn't even have a certain player on their board. And Verse gone to the Rams! We're now in the range where...we're going to get a REALLY good player either way. 1-Fautanu 2-Mitchell 3-Wiggins(I think he goes to Philly) 4-DeJean 5-Arnold NO particular order and I'd guess Brian Thomas goes in there. Does Mitchell actually fall? Did I just jinx it by asking that question?
  5. Agreed. The two that I thought would be gone in the early teens are still there. I keep saying Fautanu has to go ...but the Rams should probably go get one, but...hell, they also need to replace Donald.
  6. Eh, he missed a lot of time and unlike Guyton, I don't think he can play OG well in this system. Guyton on the other hand? I'm just REALLY surprised the top CBs and Fautanu are all still on the board.
  7. Man, I don't know. That's where you build the heart of your team. If you think you can get a immediate impact player AND a long term starter, sure. With Mitchell, Arnold and Fautanu...I might stand pat. Thomas is likely to go at some point here. Oh, and Wiggins. I would REALLY think Cincy would take the OT, but I've been wrong on the last two I thought were obvious, Mitchell to Indy and Turner to Seattle.
  8. What'd they give up?
  9. Yup! I'd start think about moving up here maybe. Seattle I would think would go Turner(CB, LT top 10 last two years)...18 you'd have your pick.
  10. I like Murphy...probably not for a trade up to 15 though. Didn't watch Arnold closely enough, but Mitchell from Toledo looked legit. Really good fit for press man and physical in the run game.
  11. I'm watching ESPN for some reason...their "best available," is not the best available IMO. Hopefully Turner, Latu go, Murphy, Newton...Mitchell or Arnold falling would definitely make it more interesting. I think Mitchell goes here and Arnold will go to Philly at best, probably earlier.
  12. For Mitchell or Fautanu? I don't think so, but those would be the two I'd go up and get. Chicago is going to be DEEP at WR. I'd wait until at least ~18 or so. Moving up from here is likely going to cost us a future 1st or both our 2nds. I don't think it's worth it.
  13. This is good for the Packers so far. Just pushes a few guys down the board...really wish Denver would have moved up for McCarthy rather than Minnesota though.
  14. I doubt it. I'd guess Denver was eager to take McCarthy. Especially if they end up taking Nix...which is not a great pick IMO.
  15. He's a stud, but I'm just glad they didn't take Fashanu. I thought they should have added to that OL. I'm not a big fan of Braxton Jones.
  16. Well...yeah, of course! It was even more fun doing the mock draft simulators until Jordan Love ruined it by...winning. We could have had Joe Alt!
  17. I don't think so, I think the Nabers talk is legit. But the Chargers now have an elite OT combo with Alt and Slater. That's a team that needs to build from inside out. They've always had this flashy talent, but they rarely seem to have the OL/DL you need. Alt was by far my favorite prospect in this class. I think they made the right move... That said, best case scenario is Brian Thomas falls to #25 and the Chargers are desperate to replace Williams/Allen and trade up and give up a future 1st? We probably have to send a 3rd back or whatever, but it'd be well worth it.
  18. I could not agree more. I was on the Harrel bandwagon...after we made the pick. It's really kinda silly not to. All the mock and guessing is fun, but the Packers are so well run, Gute and their scouting is exceptional, it's really pointless(and a little arrogant) to get disappointed about a prospect. Even the Jordan Love pick...I half heartedly predicted it and then felt disappointed for a bit, then just excited about the future. I hoped we'd get lucky enough to find another franchise QB...and now we're watching the Packers draft as a team with legitimate SB aspirations.
  19. Colson would make me really cringe. I like Colson, he's a smart backer. He's savvy slipping blocks, but for all the talk about how Cooper is a Will, I don't see Colson as more of a MLB. I also like Wilson. Tough kid, but a little older, knee injuries. I'd feel about the same with Cooper as I did with Quay. It wouldn't be my favorite pick, but I think Hafley will take advantage of our LBers athletic ability. I also think the edge from Mizzou, Darius Robinson is a very real possibility at #25. More likely I think we move either up 4-6 spots or down, but if we stay put, I think it'll be a pick most fans find a little boring. I'll come around either way. The talent of this team with 5 top 91 picks? Could this draft feel more different from last years?
  20. LOL...missed that one. Still love the guy as a player. He's one of a handful of Badgers I've actually really hoped would end up here, but I can imagine he's not exactly at his best in space vs a guy like Daniels. Speaking of UW guys, thoughts on Guerrendo or Bortolini? I was really unimpressed with the prior in Wisconsin and going back watching Bortolini, he needs a lot of work on the QB exchange, but he was a little better than I remembered. 169 would be a solid range.
  21. I haven't looked at Walter recently, but NFL Draft Buzz HAS to be the worst "scouting" site out there. They just cut and paste the same answers. If a RB is under 200LB, he's 'questions in pass pro, curls up and tries to dive at blitzers feet,' or something along those lines. They have ~10 positive attributes, ~10 negative ones and just mix and match. "Stacks CBs with the best of them," is one.
  22. Hell, Derrick Brooks would be worried about that! But I know one way to solve that issue...send Leo to the NFCN! I'd be thrilled with him as the Mike in this defense. Not quite so thrilled with him in coverage, but he can rush the passer. To be honest though, this one went over my head. Is Chenal particularly bad spying a QB or has Lamar broken his ankles a couple times?
  23. I'd be shocked if he makes it to #58...less so Mims with his injury history. I'd guess he'd go to one of Balt, KC, SF at the end of the 1st and if he doesn't go in Rd1, then I can't see Washington passing him. But it's the draft. There are always guys falling. We drafted Quay, there were people who had Dean as the #1 LB(more had Lloyd, but some certainly had Dean). I think the best case for the Packers would be a team like the Raiders or Denver seeing Penix/Nix sitting there at #25 and are willing to give up a '25 1st to move up. Payton is the most likely to do so, but it'd be easier to justify Guyton and say Edggerin Cooper in the early 2nd if they're there.
  24. I don't think you want the other safety to be exclusively a box safety. If you get a guy in Rd 1 to play safety, ideally, it'd be someone who's interchangeable with McKinney. Someone who can play the slot, play the run and play CF or in a split safety look. I understand the argument you'd rather have a pure CB. That will be interesting...if the Packers are willing to take a guy like Wiggins with his frame, or Sainstrail in the 2nd(I've warmed up to that a lot). I would trade down if I were them. I think they could easily add a 1st in next years draft and I'm definitely of the opinion that you're better off building that OL before you throw that young QB in there. Very few QBs are going to be able to go from CFB to the NFL and play behind a poor OL. On the other hand, Daniels is really impressive. He can make every throw, he's going to be one of the most elusive QBs in the NFL right out of the gate. If it's Maye who's on the board, then I'm definitely moving down and trying to still grab Alt.
  25. I don't really think that's all that compelling. They had Clifton/Tauscher through 2000-2010/'11. Then they drafted OTs in back to back years with Bulaga and Sherrod, the latter ended up having a serious injury and they end up with Bakhtiari and Bulaga for most of the next decade. MANY of those years they also had very pressing needs and used the 1st rd to address more glaring issues. Randall when you started Gunter at CB vs Jones, Haha when you needed a safety badly, Stokes when you lost in the NFCCG with Kevin King's blown coverage. The odds are obviously against taking an OT, but this is not a large sample size and I don't think it's predictive of what they WILL do. Especially if they think there is an elite OT there. I think they'd have taken Wright last year if he was on the board at #13. There are 22 positions on the field and Gute has broken with "norms," several times. They'd have taken Watson in Rd1 if Minnesota would have agreed to trade pick 32 instead of 34. Of course even that wouldn't be a thing if Jordy had been drafted a few spots earlier. Off-Ball, Safety, a smaller WR in Jaire, Reed was under their size thresholds. Again, they probably take another position just because it's the field vs OT, but I don't think it'd be because they haven't taken one since they took two back to back.
