  1. The few times that I saw Gellner doing Brewers Live, she was downright awful. As in, can't-read-off-the-teleprompter level bad. Which, oddly enough, still makes her better than Hughes is likely to be. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Crewin06... your mission to piss everyone off seems to be succeeding so far. You could probably stop telling people they're making things up. Considering how thread played out, and his admission that he has in the past tried to stir things up here to see how far they went, I'm convinced that this was probably the case again, especially considering his blatant disregard for the several warnings given to him along the way here. Please feel free to continue discussing the topic at hand, but please continue with more tact than Crewin06 chose to use over the last day or two.
  3. He didn't answer my question and used fake baseless stats. That line I got a strike for had more fact in it than any of Roberts posts put together. Are you really not getting the point here, or are you testing 'how far you can push the limits here' as you told the old JSonline boards a year or so ago?
  4. If you can tell me how he got that Fulton County Stadium gave the ball 2-3% more carry other than he made it up then you can give me a strike or kick me off otherwise I stand by my assertion that he wrote down a bunch of contrived BS and he couldn't answer my question. My point had nothing to do with the argument at hand one way or another, and wasn't a comment on the validity of any stat or side. My point was that there are ways to make YOUR point without making yourself look bad. Condescension is not allowed here, and neither is 'BS,' that's the bottom line. If you can tell me how he got that Fulton County Stadium gave the ball 2-3% more carry other than he made it up then you can give me a strike or kick me off.... Either the guy is making up a bunch of contrived BS or he is just a tool that doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Since you can't seem to take a fairly blunt hint and have been warned previous to this about condescension, we'll take you up on your suggestion about the strike.
  5. So Guys I give you 3 simple questions and you can't answer any of them but give more contrived BS. Very condescending, and 'BS' is not allowed here per the site's terms of use.
  6. Probably Marney Gellner I'd have loved to see Marney get the job. She was very good as a sportscaster for Channel 3 in Madison a few years back, and is certainly knowledgeable about sports. At the very least, a heck of a lot better than Telly Hughes is going to be.
  7. Lays Hickory BBQ Potato Chips - Where have you gone? The same place as my Fiery Habanero Doritos. If anyone has a spot to get those, I'd be equally grateful.
  8. I've switched to gmail now..... But its still happening on my yahoo account. Now everything I receive, it then replies to that address with spam. You're completely changing your password to something different everytime, right? IE, Not just switching from like 'brewers' to 'brewers1' or something like that?
  9. I really dont care that he worked for the Cubs, although it does irk me some that he grew up and is a die-hard Cubs fan. Agreed, and also agree that he'll likely jump ship the second a consistent on-air job opens up for the Cubs. Not a big fan of the hire at all.
  10. Tom's blog this morning says that Rottino plans to report to the Brewers, as long as he's not claimed. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/39637877.html
  11. He would have to be added to the roster in order to be called up in june which seems mildly unlikely since he was just removed from the roster. That's certainly a good point, but there are always major injuries for every team by a couple of months into the season, and I think with a hot start, Pena would be a great candidate to be added back on if someone hit the 60-day DL. Especially because there's not a lot of bullpen types on the 40 man slated to be in AAA, unless they're willing to call up someone like Green or Wright to be in the pen instead of starting.
  12. If a deal isn't struck, I would think Pena would have better options instead of the Brewers in terms of making a MLB roster. While there are probably better situations out there, I would think that Josh and Pena would look at the Brewer roster and realize that while there may be a number of options for the Brewers in the pen this year, there's not a whole heck of a lot of them that don't have major question marks. I'd think if Pena starts out strong and someone in the pen falters, there's a great chance Pena is called up before June.
  13. It's also still possible you'll be able to file for the $8000 credit this year, but I would tend to doubt it. After reading the actual text of the new stimulus bill this morning, I'm under the impression that you can claim it on your 08 return. None of the language of the new bill alters that language from the old bill, unlike the parts about repayment. But as with Toby, that's just my opinion. EDIT: Here's the breakdown of the new credit, per the House summary: http://www.house.gov/billtext/hr1_cr_jesb.pdf Final credit is discussed on page 19. Based on this, I think the repayment requirement is only waived on homes bought in the 2009 window, and considering that they mention dating the purchase back to 12/31/08 (which was allowable for tax purposes on the original credit), I think it's claimable on the 08 returns.
  14. Pena has an interesting choice if he clears waivers. If no one offers him a major league deal after that, he may well come back to the Brewers as our bullpen situation probably suggests he could get called up fairly quickly from AAA.
  15. So if I'm reading it right, it'll supersede the $7500 tax credit that you had to repay, but if the new tax credit is greater than $7500, you won't be able to claim the excess until you file in '10. Boy, I hope that's not the case. What happens for those that are buying a house and already claimed the credit on their return? Write a $7500 check back to the IRS?
  16. I actually disagree with Peavey's take on Looper/McClung the other way. Actually, not my take. That was part of my post quoting endaround, FTR.
  17. Per the Wall Street Journal, the housing credit is upped to 8k, with no repayment, and also still subject to possible negotiation. Should be interesting to see whether it's a revision of the entire credit, or a new credit going forward like the Senate proposed. http://online.wsj.com/art...SB123436825805373367.html
  18. You ARE changing your password after each of these, right?
  19. Yeah, I must correct myself. If the Palmer 'insufficiency' vote counts as the VP becoming president, wikipedia would be correct.
  20. The sad thing is that I plan on taking this credit but I will be using it to pay off credit cards and then put the rest in savings. So it will do absolutely nothing to stimulate the economy. But to get the credit, you bought a house, which is already stimulating the economy. It'll be interesting to see what the final outcome of the credit is. I hope they used common sense and kept it refundable, claimable on 08 returns, and eliminated repayments. Missing one of those three things makes the new credit considerably worse than the old one (and hopefully they eliminate the repayment of those that already claimed it as previously mentioned as well).
  21. For those unhappy/surprised by a Kendall bobble, keep in mind that Damian Miller had both a full-sized and mini bobble from the Brewers.....
  22. And why were they even questioning him about things that aren't illegal? Well, it was questioning about steroid use in general, not specifically HGH, right? And steroids are illegal.
  23. Abreu to Angels, closing this thread.
  24. wikipedia says there have been 9 presidents serving a total of 4+ terms (Taylor is the 5th 4-year term on the show). As a devoted fan of the show since the 2nd ever episode, I'm fairly confident that Wikipedia is wrong. Stunning, I know.
