  1. Well, we had a "Where can I find CC gear?" thread a few months back, so how about doing the same for people not wanting to get playoff/wildcard gear from mlb.com?
  2. It would absolutely be fitting if Helms helps get the Brewers to the playoffs.
  3. Boy, Corey looks completely and totally clueless at the plate.
  4. Boy, Corey looks completely and totally clueless at the plate.
  5. Ok, there really shouldn't be any further doubts on people's credibility or the accuracy of who people claim to be here, so let's stop that line of posts and go back to discussing the topic at hand. Also, as a reminder, swearing even when some letters are subbed out with a symbol ($@#*, etc) is a no-go here.
  6. Tons of people laugh at you when you even mention a bank going out of business...they know the bank president personally, and his dad was the president before him...others may not be safe, but there is no chance of Small Town Bank and Trust losing a dime. I know the point you're trying to make here, but in the current situations, it's the big banks who DIDN'T know their customers that are in trouble. Most of the 'local' banks are probably doing just fine.
  7. 3 accounts with 100k each would be covered. But I think each of the three accounts would have to have a different account title, right?
  8. No, they'll be coming from Chase now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. I think there's still some serious bugs with the post counts not matching up with the right pages and the last page of a thread still not being the last one to display on the main forum page, and unfortunately Yuku doesn't seem in any particular hurry to fix the problem.
  10. Yeah homer, it certainly wasn't out of the blue. But it has to sting a bit with a 700 billion dollar bailout being debated right now and probably just days away from passing.
  11. Washington Mutual was seized and placed into receivership by the FDIC tonight, and some of the assets were sold off to JP Morgan Chase. Wow. http://money.cnn.com/2008...tm?postversion=2008092521
  12. Mota was horrible in April -- You might want to check your stats before calling people's judgment clouded. A 3.00 ERA is horrible? You would resign him? Considering the state of our bullpen, it certainly deserves some consideration. I'd probably offer him arby.
  13. But thank you sir for providing some insight and trying your best to keep brewerfan.net ahead of the curve, whether it's appreciated by most or not. It's not that it's unappreciated at all, it's that one of the people in this thread that was posting the rumor wasn't exactly doing so professionally (posts were removed from this thread, for those just catching up after work).
  14. Mota has been fine, even at 3.2 million. Some people's judgment is clouded because he had a great first two months, a terrible middle two months, and has been average since. As Russ said, Mota's really not the problem, it's that he's the 3rd best guy in the pen that's the problem.
  15. There is a precedent here, I believe. I think that in the past, posters have reported fake injuries as fact, and were banned. Yep, there is a rule here that anyone found to be posting false rumors about injuries, trades, etc as fact receive an insta-ban.
  16. Now Atlanta too? http://www.cnn.com/2008/L...nta.gas.crunch/index.html
  17. I'm still fairly surprised they didn't move Sedar to third, since it's almost a sure thing that he knows both the speed of the Brewers' players and the arms of the opponents better since he's been with the big club for more than a couple of weeks.
  18. If they get swept by Cincy, I think there's a chance they're greeted with pitchforks and torches.
  19. How in the world does an entire city run out of gas? Williams said some drivers were following gas trucks to see where they were headed, and lines at some stations were a mile long. Wow. http://www.cnn.com/2008/U.../nashville.gas/index.html
  20. And still, 90% of Brewers' fans could not tell you what state H-ville is in. Or Brevard County. Because Brewer fans are bad at geography? Or am I missing the point?
  21. Has he been excellent at drafting pitching? No, but Gallardo, Parra and Jeffress are pretty good in 9 years given all the offense we've drafted. Well, Jeffress can still go the Mike Jones route at any point in the minors, so that's why I qualified it as 'arms that have stuck in the majors'. Manny is probably there with this season now too, but still, that's 2 arms in 9 drafts. Just because two of them look like they have legit potential to be 1-3 starters in the Majors doesn't make for the fact that it took 8 years for Jack to have one of his arms qualify, and that there are only two of them. But, just IMO.
  22. He's has failed to assemble an above average pen, but has gotten zero help in the form of relief prospects (which is on Zack). I think this is an important point that shouldn't be skipped over. For all the rightful praise that Jack gets here on the site, can the fact that he's really only had one Brewer arm that he's drafted stick in the Majors to this point (Gallardo) be completely overlooked?
