  1. Hopefully this will put an end to the 'Wisconsin as the trendy pick to be upset' stuff. The "Experts" see a team that isn't flashy but plays great defense and fundamentally and just assume they're going to be beaten by the high-flying teams. Truly dominating win- never really in doubt in the entire second half.
  2. K-State's guards are pretty horrible defensively.
  3. The comment about "best catching prospect" is an eye opener, I wonder if he means he's the closest to the major leagues, or if he really thinks Vinny is his most talented option? Kind of makes you wonder how serious Salome's issues actually are, as I'd think he'd be leaps and bounds ahead of Rottino in nearly every way.
  4. Fortunately, while I lost 2 Sweet 16 teams, so did 99% of people. I had Vandy/UConn, and almost everyone else had some combination of Drake/Vandy/UConn/Clemson, so things worked out quite well so far.
  5. Lost my first Sweet 16 team in UConn, but I'd assume that 99.9% of brackets lost one with both UConn and Drake losing, as very few would have had either SD or WKY in there.
  6. Much, much better games today. South Bama and Butler looks like it's going to be a dog fight the whole way, and Georgetown is getting at least contested early.
  7. Yay for picking UConn in the 2nd. For that reason alone, I was more than cool with WKY pulling it out even though I had Drake in that game.
  8. Davidson takes more wild chances slinging the ball around than Brett Favre, and today it's not working for them at all. Lots of turnovers on bad decisions.
  9. Looks like there's going to be some good games this morning, as almost all are close at the half. Nice, considering yesterday's first session games were blowouts.
  10. Wisconsin no longer holds the record for lowest point total in an opening round game....
  11. Like I said, Xavier to the Final 4! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Apparently my head said "Take Xavier to the Final 4." Ouch.
  13. IBTL. Judging by your post, you probably are too arrogant to actually listen to it. As a reminder, stuff like this isn't cool.
  14. Water is wet. John Madden likes Brett Favre. Kerry Wood is hurt.
  15. Wow is right- I had no clue either was still in the league, especially Cancel. Think they're wishing they'd have held on to Estrada at this point?
  16. It suggests the brewers will fall next year, but doesn't consider the suppl. picks they will have. Yeah, it's odd that they praise LaPorta as one of our top prospects, without acknowledging that he wasn't even in the system last year at this time, so we could potentially add 3-6 more high rated guys in this years' draft with the 6 picks we have in the top 2 rounds.
  17. Honestly, I agree with Brian- cool idea, but kind of freaky looking.
  18. I agree with the sentiment that E-bay has essentially become the secondary market for cards at this point. Beckett value really only is valuable if you're at a card show or something like that. If you want a decent idea of the value, keep an eye on auctions that come up on this in the next few weeks and see what they go for. And it's not a bad idea to scope out similar (though not necessarily identical) items ahead of time to get an idea of what to spend if you're targeting something specific as my buys usually are.
  19. Thanks. No problem. Believe me, I've bought a lot of cards on e-bay and wondered if I've over or underpaid a number of times, so I understand the feeling. I've sunk a lot of money into my "projects" (ie, wasting my money on Brewer/Packer cards) and wondered about resale value.
  20. Again, just IMO, but BV is probably ~$15 or so.
  21. Just IMO, but I'd say you got it fairly close to book value. GU items have really slumped in secondary market value, even if they're of HOFers.
  22. He wanted $900,000 like Howard got. Is that printed somewhere? It's not in the JS blog linked in the first post.
  23. Not to sidetrack from Jimbo's inquiry, but AT&T is the network that the iPhone uses- for those that have one, have you had network issues?
  24. Per Tom H and the JS blog, Jeremy Jeffress spent a month in rehab following his positive substance abuse tests: http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/02/28/jeffress-admits-to-being-in-rehab.aspx Very nice to see that Jeffress seems serious about putting this behind him and getting his career back on track.
  25. How many are there? The Braun one will give him a lovely pair. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
