  1. What a freaking terrible call.. Why are these guys even graded? There's no accountability ever for their ineptitude anyway.
  2. "If you blow it, then you're not successful." Can't get gems like that from anyone but Craig Coshun.
  3. Why do I feel like when the situation is reversed, the criteria of "looks like it" is good enough to reverse it?
  4. I don't really agree with that. I know it's early, but, right in front of the top of your order, now a RHP on the mound, I would have started the inning with Thames or Arcia and try to set the table rather than just basically starting the inning with 1 out.
  5. Jennings and Barnes getting loose, I wonder if they are planning on hitting for Chase to lead off the 5th regardless of what happens this inning.
  6. Well, it's good that we have the lead. Just feels like we should be up 8-4 or better today and not in a nail biter.
  7. Yeah, and he tears a calf or hammy muscle and Brewerfan melts down on a play that had, maybe, 1% chance of success possibly. No one said he needs to tear out of the box like a bat out of hell. Doesn't take anything to at least jog over there and make him throw it.
  8. Get your butt out of the box and at least make the catcher throw it to 1st. I hate that.
  9. Going to need to start plating a lot more of these baserunners if we're going to have a shot today.
  10. Sigh... Never did I imagine this year that there would be a point in this year when I would rather see Wade Miley than Chase Anderson on the mound.
  11. 3. May 10th @ Colorado, W 11-10 This had about as much theatrics as you can have without a walkoff, because it wasn't at home. Huge rally from down 9-4, Pina ties it with 2 out in the 9th, Brewers win in extras. 2. August 3rd vs. Colorado, W 5-3 Losing. Down to your last out. Walkoff 3 run HR. What's not to love? 1. April 3rd vs. St. Louis, W 5-4 I gave this the edge on #2 only because it's the Cardinals, and winning on back to back jacks was pretty cool. Honorable mention: April 21st vs. Miami Aguilar walk off HR after 13 pitch battle, and March 30th, Brewers rally in the 9th for 5 against Brad Hand capped off by Braun's 3 run HR.
  12. It's almost as if the organization is higher on Peralta than Woodruff or something. Seemed like a reasonable observation as both were lower top 100 prospects, both good stuff, perhaps Woodruff even better, and Woodruff is several years older with much more refined command, and I simply said I was surprised. Didn't require a sarcastic, condescending reply, but you do what you often do.
  13. I was really surprised that Peralta wasn't optioned after his last appearance. He has numerous factors working against him -- 1) They need to control his innings, 2) They have enough days off the rest of the day to work around a need for a 5th starter most of the time, and 3) He isn't pitching well. The potential is definitely there but the control is a big problem right now. I'm surprised they've been as patient as they have with him at his age while Woodruff hasn't been given the same benefit.
  14. To get back on topic, just a really interesting race in the NL this year. Basically right now you have 6 teams vying for 5 spots (Phillies, Braves, Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers, Diamondbacks). Which would be great for everyone's odds except there's another two teams right there just on the outside (Cardinals, Rockies), and yet 2 more with still a fighting chance (Nationals, Pirates). The top team in the NL (Cubs) are only 4 games away from the last playoff spot. There's such a small variation between #1 and #5 that it really does come down to who gets hot in September.
  15. No thanks, not giving up Brown for Gray. Broxton would have to clear waivers.
  16. I honestly really do not worry that much anymore about what the Cubs do on a daily basis. At the end of the day, they are going to win 90-95 games and the only chance we'll be there with them is if we do the same. I'm just hoping we can get back to playing well and do enough to be playing someone one way or another after game 162. But it adds to the fun for fans to scoreboard watch this time of year, I get that.
  17. You talkin the whole organization? Yelich almost straight up would get him, considering contract over the next 4 plus years. Minors? Sure Yelich for Trout would not be remotely close, and I love Yelich. Trout is the best baseball player on the planet and there isn't a close second. He is worth about 10 wins to his team every year, he is actually worth far more than his salary.
  18. See how easy the last 3 outs of a game can be?
  19. Seems that the crooked inning opportunities escape us. It's great that we lead but I hope not getting more doesn't come back to bite us.
