  1. Santana is actually hitting pretty well in AAA right now though, whatever that is worth. It is worth nothing, unfortunately.
  2. That is sort of what was speculated on in last night’s IGT. I really hope he can just take a deep breath, relax a little, and have some fun. I think getting his first hit will ultimately help. He lied to you about it being over, Tom.
  3. Honestly, has Schoop had an AB since he became a Brewer where he wasn't down 0-2 to start?
  4. Is Coles just like, unfireable or something? I mean, this is the most we can possibly load up the lineup without throwing the catching gear on Braun and still...nothing. What does he honestly have to do?
  5. You can't say "mark my words" and then delete your post. Then we can't mark your words.
  6. Williams really isn't being used right, he's a straight up ROOGY at this point who is devastating against righties (.538 OPS against) and useless against lefties (.937 OPS against), yet he's freely allowed to face many lefties. Now if you can't afford to limit him to that role, sure, I'd option him. Albers needs some time. Yes I know he's been a train wreck lately but he was so good the first couple months and here on a small contract. Keep him away from high leverage situations for a couple weeks then when rosters expand you can basically keep him buried on the bench the rest of the year and then figure out if you're going to keep him around next year or not.
  7. I'm hoping it won't be much of a factor. They did send Guerra home yesterday, which was a good move. I'd like to see them do something scheduling wise about the getaway game times. Either everyone does it or no one does it.
  8. Don't think so. There is a $50K waiver fee but I think that only applies if you actually get the player. In a case of someone like Harper who you know wasn't going anywhere it's just a waste of time and paperwork which I'm sure is part of why they don't bother. Now, that said, I doubt Harper clears this year if the Nationals start falling off because the situation is very different and a NL team would probably genuinely want to see if a trade could be worked out if the Nationals aren't in contention with Harper on an expiring contract anyway.
  9. Bryce Harper cleared waivers last year. Elite players can and do clear revocable waivers in August. They clear for a number of reasons. Sometimes they'll clear because yes, the team cannot afford the contract and they know that they'll simply be pulled back anyway. I'd go as far as to say Scherzer probably clears, just as Verlander did last year. I think people misunderstand how different revocable waivers are from regular waivers and would be shocked at how many players clear. The sheer number of players placed on waivers in August is an enormous list and claims are usually strategic -- either to block a rival contender from a player they might want or from a genuine desire to try to acquire a player. They're not even supposed to leak the names that do and yet we hear about many high profile names yearly.
  10. https://www.mlb.com/video/c-2341359883 Braun had a 99% catch probability on this ball. Yelich 53%.
  11. George Webb's burgers will be 5 for 5 tomorrow. So there is that.
  12. And put Pina in the OF? He is the only guy left. Braun is a professional, he can hang in there another 2 innings and wear this one with the rest of the team.
  13. All right. Just need 4 grand slams in the next 2 innings to tie this baby back up.
  14. Well this thread did not age well.
  15. Sucky game obviously, but counts the same as any 4-3 or 2-1 loss. The real problem right now is we're still in the 7th inning of a game that is going to be 4+ hours rather than on a plane. LOL...might as well go for 25.
  16. Lol Albers. Either he's toast or he was brought back too soon. Either way he shouldn't be here. Total trash can.
  17. Again, I know Schoop isn't an OBP guy but just perennially down 0-2 or 1-2. Just a brutal start for him here.
  18. If we could score with 1st and 3rd and no one out. If Schoop and Arcia don't commit big errors. We've been squandering our own opportunities, and been giving the Dodgers opportunities. Just a poor game.
  19. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now and assume he is pressing too much trying to do good for his new team. If he is really someone that needs to be on a team that is like 20-80 to be comfortable he is not really someone I want on my team.
