    I’m not totally opposed to a safety squeeze here, if it works it’s 10-9 and you still have a runner in scoring position for William with the platoon matchup. However I would also very much understand not wanting to take the bat out of Turang’s hands.

    I believe this umpire has missed around 20 balls/strikes because I counted 8 after 3 innings and then got tired of counting. It’s truly a sight to behold.

    If it weren’t for the whole long contract and veteran leader thing and longtime tenured Brewer and blah blah blah, there’d be no place and no purpose for Yelich on this team. Average hitters with zero versatility and no defensive value don’t fit the way we build rosters whatsoever.

    Being down 3 runs and needing a rally and seeing Luis Rengifo strut up to the plate to start the inning makes me angry.

    Grant Anderson has been a nice and underappreciated cog of this pen. Good work bridging the gap after the short start and keeping us in the game.

    This would be a 4 hour game if every pitch that this dumb umpire missed got challenged.

    Bauers. You’re not going to make up 4 runs with 1 swing and 1 on. Gotta stay patient. That was WAY out of the zone.

    He’s actually better against lefties this season although for his career he’s more of a traditional splits guy. I don't know. At this point in his career he’s just not that valuable of a player, to me. You can’t play him anywhere in the field so there’s absolutely no flexibility which robs every other regular from getting days off from playing in the field. This would be fine if he raked, and he’s not a liability. He just isn’t such a great hitter that your lineup can’t live without him. Very streaky.

    It doesn’t change the fact that he’s still our second best starter. It also isn’t realistic to think he’d continue to be a 1.50 ERA starter.

    Can’t remember, it was in a thread last week. Basically saying it wouldn’t be worthwhile because as a #3 behind Miz and Harrison, Skubal wouldn’t see enough playoff games.

    Basically the same pitches Rengifo saw last AB only this time he didn’t swing at them.

    Harrison has been amazing, but all the “we don’t need Skubal, he’d be our #3 starter in the playoffs behind Miz and Harrison” rhetoric is just a tad premature. Let’s give him more than 11 starts before we proclaim him better than the back to back AL Cy Young winner.
