  1. I think both the Rays and Guardians have proven you can trade frontline pitching and still be highly competitive. It's certainly a gamble whenever you're trading for prospects, but I have confidence in our scouting department.
  2. If we do trade a Burnes or Woodruff, I’d target Miguel Vargas from the Dodgers. Not sure how his defense is at 3B, but I’d be willing to take my chances.

  4. No disrespect but I just can't get on board with any lineup that doesn't include at least one of the rookie outfielders. Heck, I'd consider starting both Mitchell and Frelick in the outfield and moving Yelich to a mostly DH role. In any event, it's time to see what our high draft picks can do.
  5. I’m leaning in this direction as well. Extend Woodruff and then trade Burnes next offseason or the 2023 deadline if the team is struggling. This is the direction I think Strarns will go this offseason. We’ll bring mostly everyone back and it will be a relatively quiet offseason. I think they’ll give it one more shot with the “core.”

  7. Brewcrew82 had the idea of trading Adames to the Dodgers for Miguel Vargas plus others if Trea Turner bolts for free agency. That got me thinking what a Burnes + Adames to the Dodgers mega trade would look like. When the Nationals traded Scherzer and Turner to the Dodgers, they got LA's # 1, 2, 17 and an unranked prospect. Scherzer had just a couple of months left of team control and Burnes has two years so you'd have to figure the package we'd get back would be pretty significant.
  8. I really like this plan but I think we’ll agree to disagree on Jansen. Just don’t think he’s worth that much but I’m admittedly a big fan of Wiemer so I might be a little biased. Absolutely LOVE Vargas from the Dodgers so I’d be all over that trade.
  9. Are the prices just that high on catchers? Jansen's offensive stats are nothing to write home about so he must be unbelievable defensively?
  10. First thing I’m doing this offseason is trading Tyrone Taylor for whatever we can get. This shouldn’t be a difficult decision. We’ve got a bunch of young outfielders who are ready to go and Taylor should in no way be blocking any of them. Then, I’m calling up Yelich and telling him to be prepared to play mostly DH going forward. This opens up two outfield spots for Frelick and Mitchell and Ruiz replaces Taylor as the 4th outfielder. Keep Renfroe to provide some veteran leadership.
  11. Yelich is back to being a lazy groundout to the right side machine. He has provided next to nothing here in September. No power. Just really depressing.

  13. I think the Rangers could be one of those teams this offseason who will be desperate to go for it and they have a pretty good system. Seems like a good match between the two teams. That being said, I would love to get my hands on some of Baltimore’s top prospects. Or the Dodgers.
  14. Yeah and didn’t the Rangers spend a bunch of money on offense last offseason? You’d think they’d be willing to give up the farm to get an elite pitcher like Burnes.
  15. We’d be pretty fortunate just to catch Philly and we’re 4 back of them. So, not a chance in heck we’re catching St. Louis.

  17. Something has to give with all of our outfielders - Yelich, Taylor, Renfroe, Mitchell, Ruiz, Wiemer and Frelick. I’d move Yelich to DH, trade Renfroe and Taylor and go with an all rookie outfield. You can’t keep these guys down in the minor leagues forever. I’d also seriously consider trading Burnes. I’m sure a team like the Rangers, Orioles or Dodgers would give us a haul for him. 2023 would probably be a bit of a down year but certainly not a full rebuild.
  18. Poop! Nope, forgot him. So maybe insert Lauer for Small.
  19. I would be shocked if we traded Burnes and Woodruff in the same offseason, but if we did we’d have a top 5 system in all of baseball. Can a rotation of Peralta-Ashby-Houser-Small-Free agent? get you into the playoffs?
  20. It's fun to think about what we could potentially get in return for Burnes. At the same time, it's a depressing thought as guys like Burnes don't come around very often. I'm sure all of the contending teams would be lining up to trade for Burnes along with a few up and coming teams like the Orioles and Rangers. I would demand two things at a minimum in a trade for Burnes - a high profile corner infield prospect like Bady or Jung and a high end pitching prospect. We still have two more years of control so the haul would have to be absolutely massive and it wouldn't surprise me to see a team go above and beyond to acquire his services.
