  1. Isn't Baltimore known to be very conservative when it comes to trading top prospects or was that a prior regime?
  2. Call it a hunch but I don’t think the Orioles would go all out to acquire Burnes. He’d likely be gone in two years and they would have had to trade some major prospects to get him. I’m hoping the Dodgers offers up a deal Arnold can’t refuse as they have both pitching and corner infield prospects that would be very enticing.

  4. I agree with your assessment on Woodruff. He just seems built to pitch effectively into his late-30s and his injury history to this point is not too concerning. I'd be very comfortable offering him a long-term extension.

  6. Well done. This is probably my favorite blueprint so far. Really like the Adames trade and love the idea of getting Diaz to play 1B.
  7. I think both the Rays and Guardians have proven you can trade frontline pitching and still be highly competitive. It's certainly a gamble whenever you're trading for prospects, but I have confidence in our scouting department.

  9. If we do trade a Burnes or Woodruff, I’d target Miguel Vargas from the Dodgers. Not sure how his defense is at 3B, but I’d be willing to take my chances.

  11. No disrespect but I just can't get on board with any lineup that doesn't include at least one of the rookie outfielders. Heck, I'd consider starting both Mitchell and Frelick in the outfield and moving Yelich to a mostly DH role. In any event, it's time to see what our high draft picks can do.
  12. Awesome! I can't seem to find the box score for this game. Anyone have it?
  13. I couldn't agree more with this assessment. Things have seemed a little stagnant since 2020 (post 2019 season). Not a whole lot of flashy or exciting moves. Despite mostly success, the roster just seems stale and hopefully Arnold can bring some excitement back.
  14. I'm not expecting much of a change at all in philosophy. Coming from the Rays organization, maybe Arnold will be quicker to trade guys like Burnes, Woodruff, etc but who really knows. This offseason just became a little more interesting.
  15. Yeah I agree and I get the impression that the Brewers aren’t particularly high on Feliciano. There were plenty of opportunities to bring him up last year and he was up for a whole 2 games. I don’t think he has much of a future in Milwaukee.
  16. Since the chatter surrounding Corbin Burnes will be heating up going forward, I figured we should start a thread dedicated to Burnes trade proposals, Twitter rumors, etc. Have at it! Personally, I’m looking at teams like the Dodgers, Orioles, etc who can provide a big time pitching prospect and infield prospect. In no way am I excited to trade Burnes but that is just the reality, unfortunately. Should be an interesting offseason.
  17. Yeah you just know it's going to be windy, rainy and cold that entire weekend.
  18. I’m leaning in this direction as well. Extend Woodruff and then trade Burnes next offseason or the 2023 deadline if the team is struggling. This is the direction I think Strarns will go this offseason. We’ll bring mostly everyone back and it will be a relatively quiet offseason. I think they’ll give it one more shot with the “core.”

  20. Brewcrew82 had the idea of trading Adames to the Dodgers for Miguel Vargas plus others if Trea Turner bolts for free agency. That got me thinking what a Burnes + Adames to the Dodgers mega trade would look like. When the Nationals traded Scherzer and Turner to the Dodgers, they got LA's # 1, 2, 17 and an unranked prospect. Scherzer had just a couple of months left of team control and Burnes has two years so you'd have to figure the package we'd get back would be pretty significant.
  21. I really like this plan but I think we’ll agree to disagree on Jansen. Just don’t think he’s worth that much but I’m admittedly a big fan of Wiemer so I might be a little biased. Absolutely LOVE Vargas from the Dodgers so I’d be all over that trade.
  22. I see it as only being one more year as they likely will start trading guys off next offseason or even before that if things aren’t going well. I think your concerns are in line with most Brewer fans who worried that Mark A and Stearns would not push all their chips in and truly go for it during this window and it appears as though that is going to happen.
  23. If we're going to trade Burnes, I like the idea of packaging him and Renfroe together, assuming the other team needs OF help. I think we'd make out pretty good in that scenario and would also save us over $20 million to spend on positions of need. We'd be fairly young in the outfield but would also have a mixture of veteran guys like Rowdy, Adames, Taylor, etc. We'd still be competing for a playoff spot in 2023, IMO.
  24. The Yelich contract is such a pain in the butt. Ugh! Unless Mark A decides to go all out and pushes payroll over $130 million or thereabouts, we really don't have much room to work unless we let Renfroe and Wong walk, and we're almost certain to let Wong go and the budget would still be super tight. Unless we let go a bunch of the arb-eligible guys, I expect almost nothing in free agency, at least nothing exciting. Any kind of move will have to come via trade. Stearns and Arnold will have to be creative this offseason.
