  1. Isaac Collins in June: .288/.411/.508/.919 Isaac Collins in July: .391/.440/.565/1.005
  2. Arguably it's Uribe that should go anyway over both of them. It'd be fun spectacle for Miz to mow down AL All Stars, but if he keeps this up he'll have no shortage of opportunities.
  3. Yes, it's just a thought exercise more than anything, and the ESPN presented it as such.
  4. Obviously every single post isn't going to relate to a given topic, but generally the point of a discussion topic is that it contains discussion about...that topic. Sometimes it veers and it's good to direct back. It's not micromanaging, it's just managing.
  5. I guess you could argue he should have gotten more steady playing time at some point, but he also just hasn't been that great, as noted above, and there's not a great need/fit for him right now either.
  6. Koenig has allowed a run in 3 of his last 15 appearances. Obviously that doesn't account for other runners he's let score, but if you're expecting relievers to never allow a hit, you'll also be quite disappointed when they don't start an inning. Anyway, the other point about this being the Priester thread is also fair.
  7. I just wouldn't call a .240 avg "glove only". No power, sure, but that's not .200.
  8. Calling it a big loss feels hyperbolic to me. Is this early 2025 decent Rhys, or June terrible Rhys? Are we replacing him with early good Jake Bauers or June terrible Jake Bauers (plus Vaughn)? I don't know whether this will be good, bad, or a total wash. He did have a tendency to hit fly balls, which can be helpful (whether they go out of the park or not), but otherwise I hesitate to say it's going to matter one way or the other. If Vaughn can manage an OPS north of .700 for a month it's probably a net positive, unless his torrid July start was an indication that he was back on a hot streak.
  9. I think that's a little unfair. He definitely did not have much power last year, but was basically the same as Frelick. He's only had 2 seasons, it's a little early to call him glove-only based on initial results.
  10. Obviously this is sheer lunacy from a baseball perspective. I can't process an owner who would think like this (having no idea if this is actually true).
  11. You were doing fine until the last sentence.
  12. I don't think it's bizarre to point out that he's recently been very good. We all agree he was atrocious earlier in the year. It's not necessarily relevant to prediction of future results. But obviously it's also not fair to assume that he'll continue to rake. What we can say is that he has the capability to hit very well and he's showing that lately, so just saying "Ortiz sucks!" is overly simplistic and not acknowledging how good he has been.
  13. Who cares what the season total is? His OPS last 4 weeks is .725, last 2 weeks is .930. 930!
  14. Haase. Not Hasse.
  15. I agree, but also citing an outlier compared to the many of other pitchers who haven't been able to do that doesn't necessarily make a strong argument.
