  1. But can it be done in November or January??? Can be done here.
  2. Yeah, Senator....last summer was crazy. We had a lot of heat....but that's not typical. But then again, Dallas had the most snow they've had in a winter this year...take that for what it's worth. I've lived in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Oregon, and now Texas, and by far, I love living in Texas and don't ever plan on moving!
  3. While I don't like wishing harm to anyone, or reveling in anyone's injuries.....this is great! Sucks for the Cubs and that's the way I like it!
  4. That's like saying "All they do in Milwaukee is brew beer". Go to Austin, visit, and you will be surprised. There's a lot more than just music in Austin. It's a college town, so it's a lot like Madison in that regard, that there's plenty of bars and activities....but because it's in a climate where cold/snow isn't really an issue, there's a lot of outdoor stuff to do, like go to Zilker park, etc. It's a short drive to many scenic areas, and there is absolutely plenty to see, eat and do.
  5. So did the extra money mean he could get his eyes checked? I doubt this was something that happened overnight. Hasn't he had an eye exam recently?
  6. As one who lives in San Antonio....Austin is a great place. The temperature down here gets cold-ish in winter....usually lows are about mid 20-30s.....for a time. Then it warms up. It may snow in Austin once in a blue moon. Summers are hot, but you're trading cold and snow.....so take your pick. There are places to do some kayaking and outdoor stuff....San Marcos and New Braunfels, about halfway between Austin and SA has lots of stuff to do on the Guadalupe River.
  7. A fantastic beer that I have recently come across, and probably can't be purchased outside of Texas, is Alamo Golden Ale. It's brewed just outside of San Antonio (surprising, I know), but it's got some fantastic flavor, and is some of the best beer I've ever had.
  8. After seeing snow on Tuesday in San Antonio, I mowed my grass/weeds, and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine!
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com...ba/news/story?id=4945104 It's not Bucks related specifically, but NBA related.....straw chewing banned? Wow....I never knew that could be such a detrimental habit. And the point of this is?
  10. Try to shop around. My wife was covered under my insurance, however, I had to pay the premium. She had a "pre-existing condition" that kept her from becoming pregnant. Through diet and medication she was able to get pregnant. I figured out that this year, to continue under my employer's plan for my wife and daughter, would be $850 monthly. We could barely afford the $750 for the two of them last year, so adding another $100 was out of the question. I have a life insurance policy through a fraternal agency, and in checking with them, they offer health insurance and for the two of them, it is $388 monthly. Granted the deductible is a bit higher, but we're banking the savings. As for for the pre-existing condition, there is a 2 year rider from the last "treatment". After that, she should be covered. Don't know if that helps you in your situation, but check around.
  11. No it would be more like Nyce. Reeeeeeaallllll Nyce
  12. A sign of global "warming".....San Antonio was in the upper 70s Sunday, 60s yesterday and today.....it's going to sleet/snow. Unbelievable.
  13. So basically, with a few other parts, Granderson was traded for Damon. That's smart.
  14. 65 currently in San Antonio. A great winter day to go to the Farmers' Market, the Riverwalk and the Alamo.
  15. No doubt. Assured of the gold, he goes out and ups his score. Just amazing.
  16. But he's Ryan Braun.....he doesn't come in second.
  17. That takes coordination to get all the kittens to do the same thing. Fantastic!
  18. He's only 65. I thought he was older than that. What's he going to look like at 80, if he makes it that long? Wow.
  19. The dulcet tones of Matty Vasgersian calling ski jumping on NBC right now. Fantastic!!
  20. The sickest part to me was showing them trying to resuscitate him, and there's one guy who is looking up and has blood all over his hands. Saddening.
  21. NBC is absolutely classless for showing the video, not once, but repeatedly. The guy died just this morning, and you have to run it? The still pictures are scary enough, but to watch a man die? That's just wrong.
  22. I would love love love UT in the Big Ten. That way, when Wisconsin comes to Austin, I can drive the hour to watch the games! I just have a hard time seeing why Texas would actually consider it. They're one of the top teams in the Big 12.
  23. Are you sure it was a man's relationship?
