  1. There are festivals pretty much all summer. You can head down to the beach. Spending a few hours at the zoo is a good time. Not my cup of tea but there are a ton of brewery tours. What do you consider a good pool? Slides? A pool that's deep? Something like a basketball hoop set up? The last time my dad visited he stayed at the Best Western Premier in Brookfield. It's definitely not a luxury hotel but they updated it in the last few years (when my dad stayed there it screamed 70s) and the pool is awesome. They had a basketball hoop in the shallow end and the deep end is 8 feet with a ledge so you can stand and walk over there if you don't want to swim back to the shallow end. You're probably not going to find luxury with what you would probably consider a good pool. That hotel is a pretty good location too. Right next to Brookfield Square Mall, pretty close to Mayfair Mall. 10 minutes to the zoo, 15 minutes to Miller Park, 20 minutes to downtown. There's the Country Springs Hotel as well but that isn't luxury either and even though it has a water park, it's not that great. Have you thought about staying in Milwaukee and then heading to the Wisconsin Dells for a couple of days? You could stay in a luxury hotel downtown and then get the water park resort style atmosphere at the Dells. http://www.wisdells.com/wisconsin-dells-water-parks.htm
  2. Guerra was hitting 94 with regularity out of the pen in September. In his start on the next to last regular season game, his 4 seamer by pitch was: 92.8, 92.2, 92.5, 93.3, 93.4, 92.8, 93.2, 93.2, 91.9, 92.9, 92.3, 91.6, 92.4, 92.9, 92.1, 91.0, 91.3, 91.0, 91.0, 92.1, 92.1, 92.5, 92.5, 92.5, 92.2, 93.7, 93.1, 93.4, 93.6. I'm in the camp that Guerra is poised to rebound and might be the better in the short term than most of the high priced FA. The pen is not starting and his last start went less than 3 innings which is basically a long outing out of the bullpen and in that start you reference he gave up 3 runs and walked 2 in those 2.1 innings. Expecting anything from Guerra next year other than some innings out of the pen would be foolish.
  3. Speaking of which, pot meet kettle. But sorry for thinking giving 8 figure contracts, even short term for mediocre or worse options is not a good idea.
  4. I think every single one of those options is terrible.
  5. I'm trying to figure out how Zimmermann is a good bounce back candidate. He was showing signs of decline his last year in Washington and fell off a cliff when he got to Detroit. He's an albatross that's basically unplayable for a team that wants to contend and I think Detroit knows that so they'll just ride out the contract instead of lowering potential assets by forcing a team to take Zimmermann.
  6. I don't know who he is or how he would be the one to have inside information on the subject, so I don't really believe it. Nashville is the perfect place for us though.
  7. No they don't.
  8. Well, we're apparently interested in Lance Lynn too and that would be worse than Arrieta to me. Either would be terrible though.
  9. I wouldn't call a 1/1 K/BB ratio stellar and if he's still throwing 90 he's probably going to be crap.

  11. Yes, I would love to piss away over $10 million on average at best.
  12. So if the Brewers are paying for almost everything, why are they staying in Maryvale?
  13. Click on the user's name. There will be an Add foe option and just click on that.
  14. I miss the WCHA. Other than Minnesota, there's no connection between the Badgers and any other B1G team.
  15. Super jealous of this nickname as a millennial.
  16. Really? Must've been when I wasn't watching.
  17. The MECCA is terrible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gId0gfwXoX8
  18. Can't believe people are advocating extensions for Knebel and Shaw. We already control Shaw through his age 31 season and we control Knebel for 4 more years and given the volatility of relievers, it would be insane to guarantee his contract. If anything, I'd be looking to trade those two because I think they just had their peak seasons. Capitalize on that value instead of trying to extend them unnecessarily.
  19. A versatile player that Counsell plays way too much.
  20. Extreme fly ball pitcher seems like a great fit at Miller Park. BB% jumped 3% this year too. Stay far away.
  21. I'm not saying they were wrong for trading for Quintana. It's just that they're now extremely limited in how they're able to improve their team so they have to hope some team really likes Baez, Russell, Happ or Schwarber or those guys are going to have to improve a lot to trade them for the type of starter they want or they're going to have to spend in free agency to get the type of starter they want and that will likely end up being a terrible contract down the road.
  22. Their current rotation is Quintana/Lester (who looked to be declining this year)/Kendricks (who wasn't insanely lucky this year)/Montgomery/???. They have pretty much nothing in the farm system to get them another pitcher. They have an albatross contract in Heyward. They might have a couple more in Lester and Zobrist and they might need to trade one of their young hitters for a pitcher but most of the hitters they would be willing to trade have flaws as well, so teams might not be keen to give up some of their better pitchers for them. I guess they could sign Arrieta but he has been more mid rotation starter than Cy Young winner the past 1.5 years and that contract would likely turn into an albatross in a couple years if not sooner. So yeah compared to last year when all of their hitters were on an upward trajectory, they had an amazing defense which helped their already really good pitching staff and they still had a deep farm system. A lot of that is gone now.
