I actually think this is a good matchup for Weeks also. No big slider or curve going away from him, and Doug doesn't use his curve too much. Weeks should get some balls on the inside that he can try and drive. We need him. I'm a bit concerned about Hart lately and his pulling off the ball, so we need some production from the bottom.

Mench?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not sure what this is all about. Of course Mench, he's started against lefty pitching all year, and done pretty well hitting lefties. This has been the norm the entire season, it's not a surprise.

well, that was one short benching for weeks. this is just another reason why bringing up TGJ made no sense. They need another right hand bat so that graffy doesn't have to play the OF.

I was wanting Graffy to play against LHP's in the OF, so I'm glad they're trying it out. Nothing to lose.

Though I will say my jaw dropped to hit the keyboard when I looked at Yahoo!'s lineup page and they have him listed as playing CF. I was relieved to see that was a misprint.

Our outfield defense could be a disaster, but I'm liking the right-handed lineup. It looks like Ned wants to make sure we don't lose that game on the Cubs that we gained last night.

you're telling me, I asked in the rickie thread if it was true. It actually freaked me out

The bat plays, and if it's Jenkins or Graffy vs. a LHP, they should go with Graffy. I'd like to see a spray chart on balls in play allowed by Cappy to see how many get hit to LF, though. I can't seem to locate one anywhere. I'm very certain the Brewers have this info and apparently it doesn't scare them into thinking Graffy's going to have to field many balls out there.

For those that are suggesting that if Cappy struggles tonight, he may not make his next start...I'm wondering, what are you suggesting might happen? Return to the DL? Trade? Skipped?

I guess I should have clarified when I said I expect a move to be made, I meant a trade for a pitcher, whether or not that would be a guy like Otsuka to move Villanueva in to the rotation, or a guy like Arroyo, it doesn't matter, IF Capuano struggles tonight, you really can't ride it out with him. It would be a continuation of a terrible string of starts he's put together.

"I don't know how the fans are going to be come Wednesday, we'll find out, but I think I did pretty good when I was here," he told Arizona's Web site. "I didn't leave as a free agent or anything. I didn't do a Carlos Lee or anything, let's put it that way."

I found that bit about Carlos Lee interesting. It's almost like there's some bitterness there. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, I don't know.

Earlier this year DD did plunk Carlos Lee with a pitch... It seemed like some sort of message at the time!

Guys you just have to go with SgtClueLs and his Mench Boo-ing. Its kinda like a reverse jinx mo-jo type of thing. It's worked great these past few weeks.

Ah. Now I feel kind of foolishhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

What are the other ones? I suppose you have it on good authority that Gwynn brought a Rickie Weeks voodoo doll with him from Nashville. Next let's find a way to blame him for the Sheets injury.

With all this talk of mustard and no ketchup on brats, why aren't they pimping Secret Stadium Sauce?

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

well, that was one short benching for weeks.

it's no benching. It's simply shifting him from full-time starter to part of the rotation at 2b. It makes sense to play him tonight against a tough lefty.

Yeah, pretty tough not to agree that any possible defensive issues that arise from Graffy in LF are far outweighed by not having to watch an already slumping Jenkins flail wildly at a LHP.

Wow, DD has caused some excitement in the forum... 3 pregame pages. I like it. And I enjoyed DD's time here. I bought the wife a DD T-shirt. I wish him well... but not tonight.

I love this quote from him for those of you who might have missed it on page 1:

Last time I looked DD was leading the league in BB's.

I'm just hoping the Crew will take a few instead of jumping on the first pitch.

Cappy is going to get back to last year after tonight. I just think that he will show tonight that he is ready to step up now that Sheeter is out for awhile. Good Luck Cappy.

Johnny 1st-pitch Estrada is on the bench so there's a better chance of that.
