I actually forgot one of my associates in the Cities, an Asian-American, her first name was Ahtit, It was pronounced without the h.

 

One of our TV gals here in Wausau is Bao Vang, which is pronounced Bow, like the sound a dog makes. I met her back when I ran a store, she was seeking donations. I remember thinking how sad it was such a beautiful woman was named Bow.

There used to be a name in the Milwaukee phone book that was "Buttolph Buttles." My family and I would laugh at that for hours when I would visit Milwaukee during Christmas. Sadly, I don't think the name is in there anymore.

My friend's little brother is named Nyan Ho. His first name is pronounced "Young".

There was a well-known psychologist named Harold Wiener (pronounced "wee-ner" and not "whiner" ). Oddly, he wanted to be called Harry.

I work for a company that has a facility in Shanghai. It is interesting going over there, because everyone who speaks English takes on an Anglicized name. You get your Minnie's, Smythe's, Alex's, etc... However, the absolute best name of all my colleagues over there is:

They pronounce it like Robert, but every bit of company documentation has his name written as Robot. I cannot tell you how excited I was to meet this man.

A kid in grade schools last name was Butt, and his dad was Harry. This is no lie.

Also, I work with a guy named Randy Moss. He's white though. I also remember a guy named Wen Wu. We would call him and say "Wen Wu you be home tonight" and hangup. Wow, the days of being a teenager.
