Was Braun's dive appropriate? Jim made it sound like an odd choice.

It was just out of this reach and it didn't really allow for an extra base. It was also clear it was gonna bounce off the wall if he missed it, so he had time to get up. So I would say... it wasn't inappropriate.

Braun had very little shot at that ball...IMO he shouldnt have taken the chance.. Risk an injury

 

Its hard to play baseball the way it should be if you are worried about injuring yourself diving for a ball

Great game by the bull pen today!

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people
