If a World Series falls to a Tigers/Cards match-up, does anyone watch? And if nobody watches, did it really happen? Well, since I don't live in New York, and I like baseball even if my team is not playing, I will watch and drive up the Nielsen .0001%!

I believe in the Tiger march of destiny!!

Uffda. If St. Louis wins this game, they have the distinct edge in the Series. Verlander/Reyes shouldn't be even close, and it shouldn't not be close in this manner.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking, too. If the Cards hold on to this one, we should have a nice, long, series on our hands because the pitching matchup and the score aren't really matching up right now.

Maybe I'm in the minority of fans on here cheering for St. Louis. But, I'd be cool with the Tigers winning it, too. At least two good baseball towns are well-represented this year, and not a team like the Marlins (yuck). A year from tonight, I expect to be in the cozy confines of Miller Park watching a WS game http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Most friends of mine that like baseball are really excited about this matchup simply because of that reason.

I am OK with either team winning, if the Cards do take this game, that should set us up with a nice long series, which I think would be great (though it would be ironic if the Cards managed to sweep).

I can't stand Pujols so I wanna root for the Tigers, yet the Cards are from OUR division. What to do....

Screw it. I"m looking for Detroit.

However, I gotta admit that St.Louis winning game one would be huge for them and I think it gives them the World Series. (just an odd feeling)

I was already expecting to wince at the sight of Ronnie Belliard in the World Series...but gah, that 'fro. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif

And if I heard correctly, Tim McCarver declared that "revenue sharing is working" because different teams have been WS winners for seven seasons now.

Well, compared to 2004, even one win would be an accomplishment for the darlings of Cardinal Nation.

(Jamie, if you really prefer to see Detroit win, I expect some classic brewerjamie reverse-psych trash talk. Look how it worked for BOS, back when they still warranted a bit of sympathy.)

In my "happy place", the Brewers hit Anthony Reyes early and often, and he lasts but 2/3 of an inning.

Oh, wait - that really happened, less than three weeks ago.

(This is the longest off-season ever.)

I think that's the first time the NL has won a World Series game since October 25, 2003 (Marlins 2, Yankees 0, Game 6). Congrats NL, we're off the schnide in this World Series.

How can LaRussa let Rogers get away with loading up the ball? You'd think someone in the clubhouse would relay to him that Rogers has pine tar on his hand so LaRussa could tell the umpire and get him tossed.

Inspired by Yadier Molina:

Man law, every time a catcher takes one in the cup, all men will have a moment of silence for the pain of their fellow man.

"When a piano falls on Yadier Molina get back to me, four letter." - Me, upon reading a ESPN update referencing the 'injury-plagued Cardinals'
