Can Branyan hit now?

Wow. What a job by Rivera to punch that thing down the line. I do think Schroeder is right in that Rivera deserves a ton of credit for being good when he's out there because of how seldom he plays. That can't be easy, and he's the ultimate pro about it.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

I don't know why Harris was playing so far in left center on that Rivera double, but I'm definitely not going to complain. Nice AB by Rivera.

Way to go Mike Rivera, you are my new favorite Brewer until Braun is back. Too bad Richie used up his 4 monthly hits all in one game. Would have been nice to have one of those hits right there.

The Nationals must be aware of the fact that Rickie Weeks has been a choker throughout his career. Otherwise conventional wisdom says you don't intentionally walk such a low contact guy like Branyan tied with a RISP. Of course Rickie Weeks is a low contact guy himself, but he could gain a 2-run lead without even going yard.

On a positive note, I have a man crush on Mike Rivera.

Branyan was walked because its questionable if Rivera could score on a double much less a single. Branyan is a much greater power threat with the platoon advantage.

Just think, if you had a manager that took out a pitcher after a double and a home run, the Brewers would be leading!

Is it possible to have a Yosting, even if the Brewers end up winning?

The Branyan intentional walk was motivated entirely by the pitcher's fear generated when Branyan was taking his cuts in the on-deck circle. No need for logic or statistics.

The best part about last inning was that it set up Hardy-Kapler-Fielder to start the bottom of the 9th. Hopefully Hardy or Kapler can get on so they have to pitch to Prince.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate bunting, especially right after a pitcher walked someone and when you have two power hitters following.
