Need to wash a hat

Whats the best way to wash a ball cap?

 

It is a FlexFit (which are so awesome) 63% polyester/34% cotton/3% spandex

 

Not worried about fading or anything, it's well beat up by now, just need to get sweaty head smell out

I usually just use scrub brush and put laundry detergent in the sink. I scrub till I'm happy then I rinse it and let it air dry for a day.

I soak it for an hour, to try to get most of the grime off then basically put it under the shower for 20 minutes to rinse even more out of it... then I go to the actual washing.

 

I've even tried dry cleaning in the past, that didn't work at all.

i wear mine into the shower and shampoo them. helps hold the shape a bit. then let it air dry.

i put mine into the dishwasher, top rack. (i'm not kidding)

Dishwasher works well for me also. They even make plastic insterts to hold the shape of your hat while its in there. I believe the lids website carries them - at least they used to

I always just throw them in the washer with my clothes. Of course that doesn't work well if the bill has cardboard in it instead of plastic. No drier though. All my hats are 100% cotton.

I get it wet with hot water, then scrub in pretreater (shout, etc), let is sit 10 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly with hot water.

I'm surprised I never thought of the dishwasher before, I've tried the washing machine but that's never worked out so well...
