Superstitions, Playoff Beards & Mustaches. What are you doing for the Brew Crew?

I shaved my face this morning. It'll hopefully be the last shave of the month because it's playoff beard time. If the Crew starts stumbling out of the gate, I may alter it into a playoff mustache. When telling her of my plans, the girlfriend informed me that I'll be taking an unwanted playoff vow of celibacy as well.

Anyone else starting their playoff beards? If it helps the Brewers win it all it will be worth all the itching, humiliation, sexual frustration, etc.

I would try to grow a beard for playoff time, but I also have to shave for work.

That and I'm not totally sure that I could grow a beard... Is anyone going to wear the same pair of undies for the playoffs?

I have sported the beard since 2003. It is a nice trimmed kept up beard though. But for the playoffs I will not trim the beard or get a haircut as long as they are in it. And I probably needed a haircut about a week or 2 ago. We shall see what happens.

Goin' to Vegas. Hopefully they'll be undefeated while i'm there (games 3 and 4). I've had this trip planned since June, so I'm sure glad they made it.

I have not got a haircut since about April 2005 I won't cut it unless we make it to the WS.

My friend after drinking on Sunday morning around 2:40 AM shaved his beard into a Gorman Thomas beard and put on a vintage 80's pinstripe t shirt that is very tight fitting lolz. It worked. We went straight to the general parking lot right afterwords around 4 AM to be the first in line http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I have a beard going as well, but I've had it the last month or so. I'm not really sure whether work approves, but nobody has said anything so I don't really care. Definitely keeping it at least until the Brewers are eliminated or win it all.

Maybe this'll sound clueless, but if you're starting a playoff beard, why did you shave today at all?

I don't think I have the chromosomes to grow a playoff beard, but I could wait to get a haircut. I'm on vacation soon anyway.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Gosh, I am such a buzz kill.

I am doing nothing. If I thought not changing my shorts, shaving, showering or clipping my toe nails would help Rickie Weeks catch a routine throw, I would gladly embrace the scruffy appearance.

Not going to happen.

It wasn't "routine", but he should have had it. If Hall makes the play, it's probably a DP.

And the day I start living differently because of a belief in the supernatural, I'll admit myself to the special ward at the hospital down the street.

How was it not routine? It didn't bounce. He didn't have to jump or stretch. The throw hit him right in the glove as he was standing on the base. If that's not "routine" for a Major Leaguer in his 4th year, then I don't know what is...

And it wouldn't have been a DP, because in order to turn a DP, Weeks would have again been required to catch a ball directly in his glove -- which is obviously something he can't be counted on to do.

Dad,

Doug said it well.

The play was not routine, since Bill bobbled the bunt, removing the DP.

Yet, the throw to Rickie was straight, true and a catch he should make all the time.

Hence, "routine."

Well. off to shave now.

Hall was smoking? No wonder he botched the play.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I didn't shave today and I don't plan on it as long as they are still in. I've never gone more than about 3 days without shaving, so we'll have to wait and see if it's even possible for me to grow a playoff beard...

I have to maintain a "neat" appearance for work as well, but i started growing the beard two days ago and it's turning out alright. Picture Ryan from the office but much awesomer.

I do my normal stuff, changing seats if things aren't going well, staying out of the room if we do better when I am away, changing shirts if need be, biting my knuckle the same way at every at bat

just normal stuff

Playoff beard. It's getting a bit itchy now. I may have to shave my neck a bit.
Neck trimming is absolutely allowed and encouraged. Very little that bugs me more than neck beards, looking at them, and having them.

Must be a big Kyle Orton fan then.
