Manny Ramirez

Posted

Maybe we could trade with the Red Sox! I heard Manny doesn't like the Red Sux no more! We could give them like Turnbow and mench and they send manram and maybe pay like $8mil of his salary for the rest o fhis contract?

What do you guys think? It could happen! The Red Sux are desperate (they are in second place and just hanging on to the first place in the wild care race.)

Tell me what you guys think...

You realize we've only played about 4% of the season so far, right?

Is this post serious? I don't mean to be a jerk, but Manny Ramirez for an average OF, and an 8th inning guy who may or may not have it together?

In short, it's not that I wouldn't love having his bat in Milwaukee, but the value for him is much, much, much, much higher. That's why he wasn't traded this offseason, when he was supposedly going to be traded for certain.

Wow! No need to be a total jerk. I just wanted to throw some fresh new ideas out there. Just passing along what i hear from people. The red sox are in trouble and we can get manny cheaply right now. i think Melvin should do the deal.

But the Red Sox would not be getting better by trading Manny for Mench and Turnbow. It'd take a hell of a lot from us to make them a better team after losing Ramirez. The reason they could trade Manny would be for salary relief or if he became such a clubhouse cancer it hurts the team.

At this point, I don't see any way the Sox trade Manny.

I wish brewer fans werent so pessimists. We could do this but you guys just are so negative when it comes to these types of big deals. Come on guys! Be upbeat some more now! Maybe if we put some pressure on Doug Melvin and the new owner we can get them to put the trade through thisyear. This is the year guys! 2007 world champs baby! have some little faith now!

wait, the guy who's name is DL Sheets is calling people pessimists?

trading for manny gets brought up every year...it would take all the brewers top prospects and a lot of money...that's why no ones gung ho about it...

in one word . . . . . no

in a lot more words . . . . . no I don't want Manny Ramirez and I can pretty much guarantee my year's salary that if this deal was made, once Manny got to Milwaukee he would demand a trade. He already spent many years in Cleveland, another small market.

And like someone else said, Mench and Turnbow wouldn't even come close to enough for the Sox. Not to mention that they'd have to send $8 M to the Brewers, too?

This trade reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School when he's in the economics class and he's telling the professor about the real world economics of business. The professor asks the class where to build the factory, and Rodney responds, "How about Fantasyland!" That's where this trade belongs, too.

Trust me, all the positive thoughts in the world wouldn't magically convince the Red Sox to give up Ramirez for a quarter of what he's worth.

I'm about as optimistic as it gets when it comes to Brewers fans, but the deal you proposed just isn't realistic. Us "putting pressure" on Doug and Mark A will have no impact on the Red Sox biting on a totally lopsided deal.

This post seems to be the definition of trolling (new poster with a ludicrous idea combined with bad spelling). Basically seems like bait to try to get people to make fools of themselves.

Even though it's sarcasm this is the best post ever.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

This just smells trollish to me.

But anywho, as already said this just wouldn't work. It doesn't make sense on both sides. There's no way the Brewers would take on Manny's salary, and would he even want to play here anyways? And the Red Sox would not be getting better, it's only the first two weeks of the season.. they are looking better than a lot of teams just solely on their pitching (if it holds up).

They're going to need Manny, not Mench and Turnbow.

If they were stupid enough to give up Ramirez for less than Mark was willing to pay Carlos Lee, I guarantee you he finds a way to make it happen, even if it means spending less in the future. That's such a ridiculous underpayment for Manny that there's no owner or GM in the league that doesn't make it.

The red sox are in trouble

They are? It doesn't really seem like it. And why would they trade a guy that gets them out of trouble?

This guy did kinda vanish rather quickly; I pm'd him after he felt I was being a jerk, and I welcomed him aboard, etc., etc., and no response, and hasn't posted since.

Make of that what you will
