Check out My Ryan Braun website

I refuse to check out any site that is pimped with a site member's first post.

Agreed, I vote to lock this personally.

Hold on guys, what's the big deal? This is just supposed to be a cool site that we can enjoy. We're all Brewers fans -- I'm assuming we're all Ryan Braun fans -- why so much hostility? Because I'm trying to promote the site? How else is anyone going to find out about it if I don't try to get the word out? I'd hope you guys would view it with an open mind instead of immediately deciding to not look at it. You'd think I was trying to promote this site on a Cubs message board.

Just give it a chance, it's a nice looking site. You may end up being glad I showed you kingofswagger.com

Maybe because it's your first post promoting a different Brewers website than this one? Seems pretty obvious to me....

Its the fact that you are using Brewerfan.net as a promotional tool for your gains...Had you not created the site would you even have an account here?

The fact is people ask themselves...are you sharing your website to us "fellow" Brewer fans, or did you create a site and we happen to fit your demographic so you jump on for some free advertisement?

Either way, if you are a Brewer fan and we're all alike here, why wait to create your membership here?

I personally don't feel strong either way, but one of the best things about the site is how clean it is kept. I guess we will have to watch for you to post about other things besides your website.

I'm usually not fond of people promoting something else on here as their first post as well, but heck...it's a Brewer website of some sort why not check it out?

To the OP, the site looks fantastic! Something I will defiantly be looking at in the future.

It might have been a better choice to get to know us a bit before starting a thread about the website, but "an occasional new thread" is within blog/website guidelines set forth in FFE.

The point about using one's first post to pimp an outside site has been made, which is fine. But there's no need to pile on further. Feel free to continue discussion about the site itself.

I like the site. You have some really nice flash elements that make the site look great. Nice background too. Running a baseball website myself I can say for most people it really isn't about personal gain. I'm sure the guys that run brewerfan would tell you the same. As a new poster myself I didn't take the route of promoting my site overtly with my first post, but I do have a link to it in my sig. I can understand the distaste for using the first post to pimp a site, but in the end running a website like this is a labor of love with very little financial gain so I'm certainly not going to pile on.

Same way everyone else does. Post quality content, sign up to get listed in things like google news. If you want to post about it on message boards, post a link to a specific article in an existing thread that is related to the discussion, but just signing up and saying "hay guys check out my site" is bad form. If people like it, they will check back or subscribe to your RSS feed. Other bloggers and sites will start linking to you, and your google search rankings will go up.

So stick around, join the discussions here. If you feel that one of your articles might be relevant, then by all means, post a link.

You didn't go unnoticed, though. When you signed up to post, I immediately added your site to our Fan Sites thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Freakin' awesome site. Great job. I will def. be checking in here and there.

As you can see KingofSwagger, this site asks only the best from their posters in effort to make this the best Brewer fan site out there. The standards here are super high but the content is the best I have ever seen from a fan site. Welcome.

I don't get it... is a purple tint the official modding feature of 'swagger'?

Sorry dude, I couldn't get past the myspace-esque layout. Hurts my eyes, but then again I'm 28 so it was bound to happen sooner or later,

I'm going to guess purple = royalty = fit for the king of swagger. The font looks a little fuchsia, though.

Today, it looks a bit too "Rockies" for me, but after Colorado's out of town it might not bug me.

In the past, we have had people sign up solely to promote a product/service/cause, and it has been a problem at times. I think that's why some expressed concern.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I nominate the quote in my signature for your Quotes page. Perhaps with a bit more context. Statements like that, not sugar-coating things, are what make me a fan of the guy.

Trying to piece together conversations ... Trying to find out where to lay the blame"

Thanks 1992casey, much appreciated. This is by far the best board I've read over the years. I'm new to posting here but have enjoyed reading for a long time.

Turn off the autoplay on your music script/java video/whatever it is. It makes your site come off more like a myspace page than a place I'd actually visit on a daily/weekly basis.

If I want to hit play, I will.
