At the risk of being ridiculed I don't understand why batting Hall was such a bad decision. Sure Hall is fighting it right now but it is only the fifth and its not like Hart, Hardy or Cameron are sure things right now

They're more sure things than Hall is. I'll take my chances with those three (maybe not Hart) instead of Hall against a righty all day, every day.

Plus, we had runners at the corners down two. We don't know if we're going to get a chance that good again, so I'd go with a better option than Hall there. And Hall is literally the worst or second worst (depending on your view of Hart right now) option in that situation.

Hall has terrible splits vs RHP. He has for some time now. It isn't about what a player has done this year as much as what a player has done over the last 3 years. Using just this year's stats is not enough data to make a good decision on what to expect from a player(small sample). I hope that answers your question. I am sure others could give a much better answer.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I guess I just see Hall, Hart, Hardy and Cam as six in one and and a half dozen the other right given the fact none of them can hit right now. Also Cook is a tough pitcher and I'd rather have my "better" bats saved for at bats versus tired pitcher/bullpen arms. Sigh... typing that sounded way to Yostian.

I will say that Macha sure has lived up to his promise of giving Hall a chance to prove himself. I like Hall, and he's done some good things over his career in Milwaukee, but at some point you have to pull the plug.

I think it's beyond the point where the best value the Brewers could get for Hall's contract is to pay him his money after releasing him and give his roster spot to a player that can be useful to this team. They already have plenty of righthanded hitters who perform well against lefthanded starters.

Hall is the worst hitter on the team vs RHP, just not someone I want up with 2 runners on with a team that can't score runs right now. Just one situation where I'd rather have had anyone else than Hall, doesn't matter who. I might even prefer Gallardo to him.

I feel like that replay of Hall striking out has virtually replayed itself in nearly every at bat I have seen this season from him. I know its an in-game venting exaggeration, but seriously.

That strike 2 call to Counsell was terrible. This team is struggling and Colorado is hot, they don't need any help from the home plate umpire.

Sure would have been nice to have Counsell on with a walk to start the inning considering it would be 3-1 now.

Man, this team can't catch any breaks...Braun would've scored easily if that hop hadn't cleared the fence. Drive 'em both in, Mat.

Why is the ground rule double rule never called? If the runner would have scored the ump is supposed to give him the run, yet I've literally never seen it called.

This home plate ump is lucky Cameron isn't playing or his cap may have ended up ever so slightly askew after a few of those strike calls.

Mat's gotten rung up a couple times on pitches that looked a little high. On a related note, I hate this ump's one-legged strikeout dance.

Todd Coffey isn't good. The Brewers really only have three good relievers at this point. Of course, some teams don't even have that many... Edit: I guess I'd say four pretty good ones, but still.

This umpires zone is crazy. It's weird looking at Gameday and seeing pitches in the zone called balls and pitches out of the zone called strikes. It happens every once in a while but with this ump its all the time.
Posted
I hate complaining about the ump, but you all are right. The zone is awful. And why do umps give pitchers so much room off the outside? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Posted
At least Hardy is hitting the ball...just right at guys.
Well, he was 0-4 for last night with 3 k's in a game where the vaunted JDLR was the starting pitcher. And he looked pretty pathetic in each AB

Did Gameday show the called strike three to Gamel to be out of the zone? I am watching on FSN and it looked a bit high, but I thought it was in the zone.
