Rockies or Braves?

Is anybody else rooting for the Braves to make it into the playoffs?

It almost surprises me because I used to hate the Braves for so long, but this year I would much rather see them make it than the Rockies. I feel like I should like the Rockies because they seem like such underdogs, but nothing about their team seems very exciting. Alternatively the Braves have an awesome pitching staff that is maybe the most underrated in the league. I think it could make for a more exciting NLDS if the Cards have to face Vasquez, Hanson, Jurrjens and Lowe. It would be interesting to see how Cox would assign his staff for the playoffs. Lowe was the opening day #1 but in my opinion the other three are all better. Man that's a good staff. If I'm a Cards fan I'm hoping to face the Rockies.

I want the Braves for sure. As long as the Giants don't make it I'm happy though. I hate when a bad team gets lucky with a good season and makes it in. Would be like if the Astros had got hot and made it in.

I'd be mildly happy for Jim Powell, but otherwise meh. "Meh" is how I suspect I'm going to feel about most if not all of the 2009 postseason, though.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I am definitely a Rockies fan. I was fortunate to see them in the World Series in Denver 2 years ago and I wouldn't mind seeing them do it again. The Braves have always struck me as kind of dull, I don't know why.

Baseball ends on October 4th and doesn't get played until spring training as far as I am concerned. It's gonna be a long week until hockey starts.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

100 percent Braves.

My sister is a braves fan, and I don't like the Rockies at all.

Also, playing the rockies makes it alot easier to cheer for the Braves, at least we can try to spoil a teams season.

Go Braves!!!

....best record in the NL since 06/28 (51-30)

playoff rotation?

I'd go Jurrjens, Vazquez & Hanson .....and put Lowe, Hudson & Kawakami in the bullpen (only need three starters for 1st round)

I'm rooting for the Rockies only because I was lucky enough to score tickets to both NLDS games in Denver. I'm gonna sell them on StubHub and hopefully make a nice profit.

So I'm watching some of the Braves and Rockies on mlb.tv and I think I have to change my mind. After hearing these annoying Braves announcers again and the repetetive 20 year old tomohawk chop again, I am reminded why I hate the Braves so much. Go Rockies!!!! It's your turn to step into the spotlight Mr. Jimenez.

Hea Teatoe993, whose that babe in your photo? WoW!!

Rockies. I have faith that they can actually sell-out their playoff games, despite the paltry attendance tonight. In 2004 and 2005, I think the Braves had as many as 14,000 unsold seats to their opening NLDS games. Go Rox.

I want to hear Powell call some more games so I am going to go with the Braves and Polish Falcons did you watch any Brewers games last year b/c if you did you should know who that is but if you didn't that is Trenni Kusnierek. She was the Brewers sideline reporter last year and is a MLB Network reporter this year.

Going off topic....I was on vacation all last week and failed to keep up on any news. But when I got back I was watching MLB Network and they were buzzing through a bunch of highlights from the past week or something. I wasn't paying full attention at the time but I swear they showed some dude making a marriage proposal to Trenni on the show. I'm hoping it's just a bad dream because my heart is shattered if it's true. Anyone else see this?

Hahah, Nate since I'm not living in Wisconsin for a few years now I didn't get a chance to see any games on FSN in 2008 (I had the radio package only), and therefore missed out on the year of Trenni. This year I got the mlb.tv, which is great but one year too late apparantly

Trenni was sportin' a new 'do at the Twins/Tigers game last night. She was looking mighty fine.

I don't like the Rockies and I think it's because of jealousy. On paper they don't look as good as the Brewers, or at least not any better. But everything has gone right for them. I've always thought Tracy was a very good manager. Maybe that's what good managers do, make their team look lucky.

I'm still pissed the Braves jilted Milwaukee when they left town (even though it happened the year before I was born). One of baseball's great tragedies IMO. They'll always be the carpetbaggers to me and my least favorite team...Go Rocks.

I thought they had something like 39k there last night? Since the Braves are my least favorite team in the history of baseball (the Atlanta version of course), I will be siding with the Rockies. They have a huge advantage with Suppan going for the Brewers tonight.

Rockies

Before I joined Brewerfan, I was an occasional poster on the JS Online site. There was a regular poster at that site with a handle that inferred that he was a Braves fan from Atlanta. When Prince Fielder received his initial promotion he suggested that the Brewers were showcasing him as a DH to American League teams for a potential trade as they would be better off hanging on to Lyle Overbay. His suggestions for trade targets included Shea Hillenbrand and Aubrey Huff, as they were just the type of players to put us into the playoffs.

I cite that post as one of the reasons I quit visiting the JS Online site, and the originator as one of the reasons that I cannot root for the Braves.

brewers4eric, that sounds like as good a reason as any.

I still peruse the JSOnline blogs occasionally, but I take all the comments with huge grains of salt. A lot of Packers fans moonlighting on the Brewers blog there, and fans of other teams just coming on to stir stuff up.

Becuase of my unhealthy obsession with Jorge De La Rosa, I've gotta go with the Rockies. George of the Rose will be a household name by the end of October.
