2011-05-30 Brewers (Narveson) at Reds (Wood) - [Brewers lose, 7-3]

if this team want to contend they better find a way to beat the Reds and Cards especially on the road. I think a few more bad Starts should get Estrada a look at the 5th spot.

When will it be time to move McGehee down from the 5 spot? Oh wait, there really isn't anyone to move in there! We really need a legit 3rd baseman...

I get angry watching this team on the road. I forget that during homestands.
Agreed. Not an awesome way to end my Memorial Day Weekend. Should have assumed it would go this way I suppose.

Also, I don't like Brian Anderson and he's even more grating when they lose like this. I don't like how frequently he recaps things I just watched, and it's more annoying when it's mostly bad things.
You may run like Mays...

Well, definitely disappointing, but it was our 5th starter and the offense did show some life after getting down so I'm not completely upset. The Reds are hurting pitching wise right now though so it would be nice if we can take the next two with our 1 and 2 guys going.

This was going to be the toughest matchup of the series. Narvy has been off and Wood has our number. Greinke and Marcum the next two days...things will get better. Just need to kick these Reds pitchers while they're down.

So, the road Brewers can't pitch and can't play defense. They need to shake the road complex and not take it seriously. The media's obsession with it doesn't help.
If they cared about every bad split the media makes a big deal about, they wouldn't leave their house/hotel. They've just happened to do especially poor on the road so far but I don't expect it to continue.

Aside from the rally in the 5th, I thought the struggles on offense were more the result of good Cincy pitching than bad Brewers hitting. Wood seemed to do a really good job of making "pitcher's pitches," hitting the strikezone, but in spots that the hitters couldn't make good contact. Jam jobs, outside corner, he didn't give the Brewers anything to hit most of the time.
