I can understand trying to bunt the runners over there, but I wouldn't have done it.

It was just wrong when the count was 2-0 IMO.

Good point.

So glad they won but Luc has to get that bunt down. Rather you like the call or not Lucroy should be able to get a bunt down.

Great win though! Go Brewers!

No batter is 100% successful with sacrifices so that better not be your expectation when judging strategies. Sacrifice attempts result in 1 or 2 outs a non-insignificant amount of the time, so that needs to be considered.

Did I ever say that its 100% successful?

EDIT: Also, Lucroy is a career .688 OPS hitter. Asking him to bunt with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs in the 9th down 1 isn't all that big of a deal.

I'm with you... but I changed my mind when it became 2-0. That's a great hitter's count and I wanted him to swing away. Oh well, Roenicke knew better than me.

Best game of the year, I hope it's a momentum shifter for them.

I agree with the 2-0 part, I just think getting all bent out of shape for doing something that 99 out of 100 managers would do in that situation is just silly to me. Oh well, glad they won.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

Only negative: Uecker not being in the booth tonight to call it

I heard Joe Block's replay in the car on the way home and it was all right. Gunshow! GK9! Summer of George!

I'll post the photo later (like Wednesday night) of the latest Gameday program graphic fail:

WHIP

WALKS PLUS

STRIKEOUTS

PER INNING

PITCHED

Wish I were making that up. Seriously, Brewers, I would copy edit these programs for free.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I don't know if he was joking or not, but before the game Adam McCalvey tweeted that Gomez was the backup shortstop last night. Now THAT would have been interesting to watch!

Interesting maybe, but it angers me that we may have been forced into that situation.

I really like the move to use Kottaras, you should always do what you think gives you the best chance to tie the game there and worry about the defense when you have to. They could have moved Gamel to SS with Ish at 1B, not a big deal for a few innings. I would have no problem with Prince Fielder playing SS for a few innings if it meant pinch hitting for Izturis in that situation.

JSOnline had a great picture for the cover story:

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Had a HS game to coach last night so I just got to see the walk off for the first time. Aoki needs some practice at the post game celebration. Love his effort, he just needs more reps.
