Gomez was safe.

Easily. I didn't even need a replay to tell me that. But hey, it's a pitch-out so it's an auto-out, right?

In 2008, Wolf was 6-10 with a 4.71 ERA at the trade deadline and Ed Wade made a deal for him. Granted they only gave up Chad Reinke, but Stros picked up the salary.

Too bad there is no more Ed Wade.

It is amazing how many times we have seen this nonsense this season...

It's like they are playing a re-run over and over and over again.

PS I bet "Maldy" doesn't let that one get by for the run.

Parra just struck out Ryan Howard with only 2 strikes. The count was 3-1, they called him out on the 2nd strike. Nobody picked up on it. I just rewound it and watched it again.

Wow, you're right. Good catch. Only thing I can think of is the ump called that wild pitch a swing, although I didn't see any indication of that.

Yeah that was bizarre...ump never signaled a strike on the check swing but maybe he called it out verbally? Howard certainly thought it was strike 3.

Seems like the Brewers still believe they are in a race amazing.

Would you rather see them stop trying? I prefer to see competitive games even during seasons that don't yield big-time promise.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

So the players should stop trying? I've been disappointed by this season, too, but I appreciate that the guys on the team seem to play their butts off to the end just about every game.
