Hate the bunt attempts once Aoki was already at second. Would much rather have three hitters go up there looking for singles than waste a batter on a sac and have the next hitter up there thinking sac fly.

Agreed. It's one thing to call for a bunt with a runner at first and the defense possibly not ready for it. After Aoki was at 2B and the defense knew what was up, seemed silly.

So what if they knew? There are lots of instances where the defense knows, but you can still execute. Gomez just did a horrible job. Square around and bunt...don't try to get a "head start" out of the box.

Without the real possibility of a bunt for a hit, it's stupid call.

He is quite possible the stupidest manager in the history of managers. Really? Braun can't move his neck enough to at least swing the bat?

So Weeks comes up with 1 out and a guy on 3d down a run, knows a pitcher will be batting behind him and looks at 4 straight pitches, 3 of which are strikes. Words fail.

Maldanado is the 1st baseman, Axford pitches 2 clutch innings, Lohse is our best hitter off the bench in a clutch situation. What is going on here?

Rubbish. We haven't played a good team yet and haven't gone on the road yet, and we're 1-5 and a hair from being 0-6 ... we are terrible right now.

It's not a good sign that Braun can't even hit well enough to be a better option than pitcher. Just put him on the 15 day.

Roenicke said "Axford had his first good inning."

What the hell was he watching? Two flyouts to the wall is not a good inning.

RRR translation....."He gave up no runs so therefore he must have pitched good"

He also said I didn't want to send AX out there for another inning but our bullpen is fried so I had to..... or something like that......13 pitchers and our pen is fried in the 6th game? When they had a day off on thursday? Really?

I couldn't watch the post game presser, but I would've asked Ron one question: Did Rickie know Braun wasn't going to hit there? Was he told before he went up to the plate?

That AB was equally horrible if he knew it or not. Can't stand still in that situation.

Two questionable called strikes, and then a perfect down and in pitch for strike 3. I can't fault him for not swinging at a pitchers pitch if he thinks the MVP is coming up next.

Haven't visited Rambling Al's site in months, so I figured I'd log on to it to see what that brilliant mind thought of the game.

Did not disappoint.

We'll never know if it mattered, but you'll never see a worse call than the strike three on Weeks. It's truly astounding how pathetic an effort we're seeing already, and that called reeked of just wanting the game over with to get onto the next city. I realize, there's no punishment for not trying or horrendous calls because unions insist on it, because the umpire union only exist to protect people that can't do the job in the free market, but, how that fella ever puts on the equipment again is an embarrassment to the sport.

C'mon, rip on RRR for all of his other poor decisions but imagine if Braun would have hurt his neck severely during that AB. We as fans have no idea what kind of condition his neck is in.

From McCalvy on twitter: RRR on if he's having thoughts of a closer change: "No, none at all." Said he wanted to get Axford out after 1 inn. but needed another.

I'm not sure how or why you would continue to stick with him.
