2007 Vent Thread, Part 2

All I can say is that the frustration with this team never seems to end. If this team cant win this lousy division this year you really have to wonder if this team will ever win again. This division is just awful and anything less than a playoff berth is a colossal failure.

Ah yes thought of another one.

FSN yesterday and their constant showing of Lou Piniella's ugly puss. I really don't care about Piniella so showing him to me every 2 minutes got annoying after the first 2 minutes.

It JS article on last night's game Yost correctly points out that "Soriano is an off speed low ball hitter" and that's exactly what Wise threw him.

One problem Ned. You know that Soriano is a low ball off speed hitter, and that Wise's best pitch is a changeup down.

Did it ever occur to you that Matt wasn't the best choice to bring in right there?

There were so many questionable moves last night it's hard to get them in one post. It was so predictable. Bush hasn't gotten through the 7th with a small lead all year yet there he was. Inviting Floyd to knock in the go ahead run by opening up a hole on the left side so big that a 12 hopper could get through, and on and on.

Once the teams start pitching around Prince this team will not score anything. the better hope Hall finds his stroke and either Jenkins or Mench heat up.

I am going to use the Vent thread in the hope that I can then get on with my day and not feel like hurting someone.

Why, oh why, oh why, would you let Bush swing with no outs and bases loaded. WHY? The inning before we stranded the bases full. If Ned figured Bushy knew better then shame on Ned, his job is to make sure the guy stands there looking. If Bush thought he knew better and was going to GS the ball, then he needs a good talking to in the clubhouse. Against your division things like this just can't go on. These are mistakes that just cannot continue. This is silly stuff that is very preventable, and yet it goes on and on.

Boy I sure hope this helps, as I have been furious over this one play since it occured.

And if any one can give me a reasonable explanation for how this at bat was allowed to happen please feel to inform me.

Thank you for the Vent threadhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I agree. They are not playing at a level that can win the world series. That's the goal. Those first 2 innings were repulsive.

That might be the weakest ball Bush hits all year, and A-Ram made a great play to rob Hart. Bush ks and Hart gets a hit we are talking a whole new game.

Estrade does need to be moved out of the 5 hole. Maybe when Weeks comes back if Hart stays hot.

viking very good point there and i agree but the brewers have not played any thype of Good ball and Yost continues to put Estrada there in the 5th spot is beyond me.

Maybe the best thing for this team is they lose that top spot for a while and have to get back to bascis.

Honestly, this next roadtrip is probably the road trip of the season. If we go into a tailspin again and put together a 2-7 trip, or something like that, we may literally be looking at giving up the division lead. It's starting to get very ugly. We are not playing consistent baseball, and haven't even won consecutive games in forever, besides the 2 game "winning streak" against the Marlins.

They need to put it together very, very soon. This is getting extremely ridiculous. A bad west coast trip where you go 1-5 happens. A month long slump where we can't even put together a winning homestand does not show any signs of life at all. We are not going to win the division by default. Someone else is going to make a run, maybe not a huge one, but enough to put us in their rearview mirror if we continue to play such awful baseball.

Will people say "It's Over" (i.e., the tough part of the schedule) after they go 2-7 on what looks to be a tough road trip?

The whole schedule looks tough the way these guys are playing right now

Well in the second half of the season we play 30 games against playoff hopeful teams and 43 games against Col, Hou, Cin, Pit and STL type teams. After this road trip we have a pretty easy schedule until the all star break too.

This isn't a 90+ win team, they are going to struggle to go much over .500 against good teams at home and struggle to beat good teams in general on the road. They should dominate bad teams at home and play .500 against bad teams on the road and that all adds up to 82-88 wins or so which is what I think is fair to expect.

oops need to add a vent... stop batting Estrada 5th.

Less time on soap operas, more time practicing your swing, boys. This offense is terribly inconsistent right now, not playing small-ball, and I shudder to think where they would be without Prince right now.

My jubilation in seeing Prince get a hit in the 8th was sucked away when I realized that Estrada was batting fifth. Needless to say, he didn't fail to disappoint. Ironic how it seems like this team scores more runs when Estrada's not even in the lineup, let alone not batting 5th.

AAAAARRRGGHH!!!!

Why can't we have more than two hitters on a roll at once? Why? JJ Hardy and Prince Fielder, then Prince Fielder and Geoff Jenkins, then just Prince Fielder, then Prince Fielder and Corey Hart...AAAAHHH!!!

Also, if you're going to boot three successive grounders, at least make up for it with a home run, a single, a walk, or something that's not just an out. Please.

Johnny Estrada, if Prince Fielder is on first, don't even swing the bat until he's not on first anymore, or you're not at the plate anymore. They might as well send Prince whenever he's on first ahead of Estrada because Johnny's swinging for the DP EVERY (fancy-cake) TIME!!

My vent is in the form of a prediction. The way they are playing, after the next 3 series they will be one over .500 at 35-34. They will get swept by the Tigers and the other 2 wins who cares. Go Crew! Prove me wrong.

JJ, play like we all know you can. Thank You.

Gol dang it this team is REVERTING! You read it here. This team is NO DIFFERENT than last years team. For some odd reason they found away to win 24 games early. Since then they have won 9 games! Good grief. I am saying it now, the Brewers will be lucky to be over .500 and in first place by the end of next weekend.

So it was a good idea to turn it off at 3-1?

Maybe that trip to the Cities next Sunday isn't that great of a Father's Day gift idea after all. Luckily for me, I know about it and could probably nix it in favor of a family trip up the North Shore of Lake Superior or something. Yikes. At this rate, we'll get no-hit by whoever pitches for the Twins next Sunday.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.
