Yost for continuing to bat Estrada 5th with his sub .300 OBP and whoever let Bush swing away with the bases loaded and nobody out.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/devil.gif

agreed. Just stand there, take the strikeout and go back to the dugout. Dumb, dumb, dumb....

I just think it is funny that just about everyone in the game thread today called the Estrada GIDP in the 1st, the Bush GIDP in the 2nd and the Bush meltdown in the 7th.

Granted, none of us are held accountable if we overreact and are wrong, but some of these moves just seem so predictable.

Shouse sucks by the way.

That's because someone predicts something horrible to happen on EVERY friggin' play. Than they can say, "See I told you!!!!" when they are right. It's a joke and it's making this whole message board very unenjoyable at times.

Offense http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif . Bullpen http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif . This team is so frustrating at times. There have been so many opportunities, but nothing being done.

Perception......the Brewers are stranding a godly number of runners lately.

Another perception......Yost is slow to pull the trigger on pitchers who seemingly hit the wall late in games.

Fact. A sub-.300 OBP hitter smack in the middle of your order hurts your offense.

Johnny just can't hit in the 5 hole with all the depth in this lineup. There's no reason to bat him above Bill Hall, Gabe Gross, Corey Hart or Geoff Jenkins. I'm fine with the offense he provides as a catcher, but there's no need to hit him so high.

I hate the feeling when you just know the Brewers aren't going to be getting out of an inning anytime soon.

It's been happening more and more when I see Shouse stand up in the bullpen. For me, he's really losing that lefty specialist value.

Who knows.

I have always been a little nervous about Shouse because he seems to come in and get down 2-0 on almost every hitter. He does seem to have the stats to back up the fact he is a good LOOGY, but he is really hard to watch. I like relievers that throw strikes.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I can't remember a more frustrating game to watch, since maybe the Jerry Royster era.

It's really sad when you just KNOW that they're not getting that runner in from third with less than 2 outs. Had they simply done that, they'd have 3 more runs and still have a chance to win this thing.

Luckily for the Cubs, they're getting the Brewers just when they needed. Leave it to the Brewers to cure what ails ya...

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that this is in fact not the Brewers' year. They'll have a better team next year with all the young position players getting another year of experience, and on the staff with Gallardo in the rotation. I hope they prove me wrong, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if this team is still in first place at the end of July.

In many ways, I hope you aren't right, but I can definitely see your point. We can't assume the Central will be as weak as it is this year next year, and to squander the start we had would be very disappointing. It is apparent we've gotten away from many of the things we'd been doing so well early in the season such as situational hitting, and that has come back to bite us recently, along with the fact we're a 4 man bullpen because Spurling nor Capellan can currently be trusted to take high stress innings, and because Shouse has been struggling to get outs recently against LHB, although his season stats are still fairly decent against them.

Oh, why oh why do I have to be a Milwaukee Brewers fan http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif . This team will be 5 out on Sept. 1 and the Cubs will end up winning the division.

By the way, I'm sick and tired of Ned Yost.

Johnny Estrada batting 5th is eating away at me to the point where I have to turn off his AB's. Luckily, 14 seconds of Sportscenter takes care of 95 percent of them. He's awful.

Johnny Estrada could be one of the best hitting catchers in the game if he just learned to take a few pitches and be selective. He's a really good hitter, but he never works for his pitch. The Brewers need to give him a bonus for each pitch he takes.
Posted
I guess what I really don't understand is, with all the lineup juggling, why Estrada hasn't been shuffled a little bit, it can't hurt anything really especially considering other than 2-4, and now the leadoff spot with Corey for now, everything else is undetermined until gameday.

Unfortunately, this is likely because we've been trained for so long to think like this. Cubs fans think this way too, to the nth degree. Red Sox fans were given a reprieve of this in '04.

JJ Hardy hasn't been himself for the last 3-4 weeks. He's playing for jacks, his BB/K ratio is all screwed up, and his BA is steadily slipping. His defense hasn't been affected, but he's been a sucker at the plate for almost a month.

And these Cubs fans cheering at Miller Park really, really, really pisses me off.

This team is going to fold again. You can feel it coming. Agreed 100% on the overrated bullpen comment. Only two I feel comfortable AT ALL with are CV and Cordero, the rest are crapshoots every night.

The hitting with RISP is mindblowingly bad, as is the pitch selection. We have to be the least disciplined team at the plate in the NL.

We will not win the division. Sad but true.

Man I hate how it seems like the entire crowd is cheering for every one of Prince's swing and misses, and his eventual flyout there in the ninth. Will we ever be able to drown out these damn Cub fans in our own stadium? It just sickens me.
