2007 Vent Thread, Part 2

Ive never seen the fans of a first place team in a 5.5 game lead in a division so upset in my life.

If that makes you feel better.

I went with that approach when TBow blew the Philly games, then the Braves game, and then the Cubs game.

Once I understand, twice I bite my lip, three times I say I'll give them a chance although I swore I wouldn't.

This one I can't let slide, but the problem is that I really have no scapegoat. Yost didn't blow it, Councenino was solid, Sheets and TBow devastating.

I guess I'll have to let it slide again and blame the umps.

However-if we lose tomorrow-I consider firing Yost. If we go come back .500 or under after this road trip, I definitely can him.

You don't get those games back. They hurt worse when you are 5 games up.

I've followed Brewer baseball for 37 years. This one ranks right up there with the worst.

I was at County Stadium in mid 70's when Brewers led the Orioles 6-0 going to the 9th and the Orioles tied it up in the 9th off of Tom Murphy and won it on 10-6 on a grand slam in the 10th.

But that team wasn't going anywhere so it didn't really matter.

There was also a game in 78 or 79 where they gave away one late but the details escape me on that one.

[ doesn't that pretty much take all emotion out of watching games? whats the point of watching if you're not going to have some kind of emotional feeling towards the game? I don't buy the, "oh well, we lost a series to the worst team in baseball and oh well, we lost one heartbreaker of a game" sure we have a lead in the divison, but these are the games that can pad that lead and we are blowing them. ]

I don't think it takes the emotion out of games. Until all 27 outs are made, you're still cheering for your team to win.

Personally, I let the losses roll off me and feel good when they win.

Taking your revenge out on RBI Baseball to right the wrong is always a good form of therapy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

But this is the venting thread, so I digress.

That's the objective. And it is the only reason I havent walked into Lake Winnebago already.

The rluzinski disciples dont view the season in small, meaningless samples such as one game or one series. The season is a totality of all the games.

We only need to win the division by one game. No need doing more work than we have to.

Now...I must assimilate.

they just showed the highlights on espn. On the final hit of the game, whoever was playing second for us was way over towards up the middle. If he was playing where the second baseman should be playing, thats an out. Stop shifting the infield! I'm getting really pissed at that as well.

I know I'm not the only one who's sick of having to tell myself "Oh well at least the Cubs and Cardinals lost."

So infuriating, we should have a much bigger lead than this.

I'm with jason21nl on this one. I like to watch games and care about all of them. It wouldn't be as much fun to just open the newspaper in October and see whether or not we made the playoffs. I know that's not really what you're saying, but still. To each his own though, I guess.

The trick is to keep it all in perspective I suppose, whether it's an individual game or the entire season.

Ughhhh... What the hell.

Can't rip CoCo but I can rip the offense for sucking ass tonight. There needs to be a BIG change and it needs to happen soon. Whether it's firing Ned or making a huge trade to shake things up. I'm not counting on us magically getting it back together.

When I lay down for bed in a little while here, Im going to bed with a smile on my face, imaging this team has just won their 10th in a row to stretch their lead to 5.5 over their nearest division rival.

Ahhh yes. I'll sleep good tonight.

Come on, we got 7 hits in a pitchers park vs. a good pitching staff. Sometimes we just lose a few.

If we win 90 games this year we are gonna lose 43 more of these games.

Well, denial is the first stage of grief. Most of us are on the second stage: anger. I think you're just a little behind the rest of us... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Why are so many people blaming Yost for this loss? CoCo blew it. CoCo has a job and he didn't get it done tonight. It was bound to happen.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I am very upset by what unfolded tonight. Cocoa blew one and it happens. But the timing couldn't have been worse.

All those 0-2 counts. Man, what happened. He looked good. Chalk it up to a lucky one by Texas I guess.

We are seriously hurting right now.

Where have all the "We're in first place blah blah blah" people at now?

I don't know if you're trying to just mess with people tonight or what, but Texas is 13th in the AL in ERA, and Arlington is a hitter's paradise.

"Good pitching staff"? The lowest ERA among their starters was 6.35 before the series began.

The "good pitcher" we faced tonight has an ERA of 6.35 and Whip of 1.67. The Detroit Tigers spent 3 days hitting this staff like it was batting practice in the pitchers park. Right now the Brewers are one of the worse offensive teams in baseball.

Something needs to be done. Whether it's bringing up Gallardo, or doing something, something needs to be done. We need to go on a tear, now.

I moved into acceptance in 1996.

Say Brian, when you were going through the "bargaining" stage, did it ever get so bad that you were willing to give up your soul to the forces of evil for a Brewer division title? Because I'm worried I might be tempted to do that when I get to that stage...

I'm convinced RyDogg is just being absurd tonight to send us all into a tizzy and amuse himself.

as am I. He has to been lit. He got real mad earlier in the year and can't just change like that. You might fool some Ry but you will not fool me.
