Without looking it up, it seems like Reynolds gets rung up looking a LOT. Don't know if he just guesses poorly with 2 strikes or what but he seems to look at some perfect strike 3s.

We have 1 more pickoff not included in the CS numbers and 8 outs on the bases (league average is 7). We do however have the highest extra base taken % in the league, 58%, defined as taking more than 1 base on a single and 2 on a double, when possible, regardless of hit location.

Really needed Peralta to go deep in this one after the 14 inning affair. Nice of him to step up....also nice he could pitch against the anaemic Padre offense.

Pedro Alvarez leads the NL in strikeouts looking with 9. Entering play tonight Reynolds has 5, Gomez has 6

Kind of an Adam Dunn approach even with two strikes. He seems to be looking for his pitch at all times and protecting isn't a part of his offensive vocabulary.

At least no one was on base. Sucks that was a leadoff

Walk wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. IF you can use the bases loaded to your advantage and not let this one get away.

Oh boy... dangerous hitter...

Those were some nasty breaking pitches by Smith there, great job!!!

Who's going to pitch the 8th and 9th? I'm guessing Thorny is going to take at least 1 of them?
