Pina is 2-2, including a solid single to right, and he bunts? Meh. Ok.

And playing for one run squanders that inning.

I don't know how it really looked but Gameday showed that 1-2 pitch to Shaw as not even being close to a ball.

Bounced about 3 feet in front of the plate and then went through the strikezone haha.

I was going to say(before it happened) I hated it solely based on the people behind him. No thanks let him swing away.

Shaw has gotta stop there and get in a pickle or at least make Molina have to come tag him up the line so that you at least stay out of the double play.

Hated the bunt. Hate Aguilar still being on the team. Hate the runner not being smart enough to stop and make Molina come tag him to avoid the double play. Just a rotten inning.

Pretty unhappy about Pina bunting him over.

No kidding. Move over a guy who is already in scoring position with nobody out with a .400 hitter to set him up for a guy who strikes out constantly and doesn't have a hit in 3 weeks?

I have no idea what they're waiting on with Aguilar. The Spring Training honeymoon is over. He's terrible. There's no need to waste a roster spot on a backup 1B that doesn't hustle and can't hit.

Let's see how long we can keep this 2 run lead with Torres entering the game...

Anybody mind if we DFA Aguilar after that?

Didn't see it, but it's inexplicable to me that a guy who is clearly hanging onto a roster spot by a thread would not run out a grounder.

If he truly was dogging it, I would not surprised to see him get his DFA tomorrow.

Totally expected Davies to come out for one more with only 81 pitches. I swear Counsell has a Magic 8 Ball in the dugout that he uses to decide when to pull the starter because they all seem to be gut based. At least Torres got through a scoreless inning.

I wondered about it, too, especially with Davies' spot coming up this inning. You'd think he might give him a hitter or two to see if he can go through the 6th.

Aguilar can take Franklin with him, too. The back end of this bench is brutal. Would think DeJesus will be getting a promotion pretty soon here.

Why? Every piece of contact was hit really hard off of him last inning.

I think it was a little bit of a bullet right at 3rd so he thought he was out, but as soon as it was dropped he should have started running again. Given how slow he is he probably would have been out regardless, but it should have been way closer.

I also think he's the perfect guy to do this to since he hasn't shown anything since spring training anyway. Don't want anyone getting too comfortable now do we?
