This will probably be an unpopular opinion but I'm not sure thames is any good. I think his ops is propped up by his monster april and oookay july. Just rarely makes solid contact anymore.

I agree. Since April he really hasn't been anything special. Probably only Broxton strikes out more than him. I don't understand why the Brewers signed him to a three year contract when he's obviously not a part of their future plans.

Thames is tough to read. His xOBA+ per month is. I use that stat because it isn't so results oriented. The K rate can't stay where it has been lately pretty much sums it up.

155, 108, 89, 102, 89.

So if you take out April he looks pretty league average.

Barnes is going to blow this.

Shoot we got pretty far into this game without a bunch of negative Nancy's.

Barnes hasn't given me any reason lately to be positive about this, and so far now he still hasn't.

I like Santana but he has the range of a Holstein cow.

And doesn't help when your first two steps are backwards on a bloop single in front of you

I am not Shea Vucinich

Would have broke both legs trying to catch that with Sogard coming in trying for the play of the century.

Hughes now

No

Why not? He's the most likely guy to get your grounder to get you out of this. If Barnes gives up anything else that could be it.
