So happy to see the 2018 rendition of this thread! Rotation and positional roster makeup questions aside, this team has the makings of being an extremely fun team to root for. Tons of fun personalities that have already seemed to mesh quite well together. The offseason has dragged on seemingly forever, but we've finally reached Opening Day Eve :)

Oh, how I've missed this thread. Cannot wait until tomorrow afternoon!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I haven't been this excited about an opening day in awhile, gonna be interesting to see how the lineups shake out and we have options in the minors knocking on the door to get their chance!

Giddy up! This is going to be a fun team to watch.

It's going to be weird opening on the road after so many home Opening Days. I feel like I might have to find a parking lot to drink in tomorrow morning!

This has potential to be the best offensive lineup we have had since 82. So excited to watch these guys hit.

Actually the 1996 Brewers had a better OPS than the 82 Brewers: .794 to .789 and scored more runs: 894 to 891.

I'm not sold that this team has as good a lineup as either those two but it should be very good so long as not more than one or two guys has a significant decline from 2017.

I'm really excited to see Arcia continue to blossom as a hitter and I think Yelich could get in the MVP hunt.

Huge upside on offense, a better pitching staff than most give them credit for including a devastating 1-2 punch in Hader and Knebel in the ‘pen, Jimmy Nelson ready to come back strong come June, and the resources/owner/GM ready to add another starter midseason if it’s right. IMO easily the highest ceiling for a Brewers team on opening day since 2011.

This season should be fun!

The offense should be far less streaky than it has been in a long time, and "on paper" we look to be one of the top 5-6 teams in the NL, so we can go into the season with realistic hopes of making the playoffs.

We have quality veterans playing alongside young players, with a still-strong farm ready to add more talent as needed. This could be the first in a long string of Brewer playoff appearances.

Let the games begin.

"The most successful (people) know that performance over the long haul is what counts. If you can seize the day, great. But never forget that there are days yet to come."

Fewer swings and misses, more putting the ball in play, advancing runners, and getting the run in from 3rd with less than 2 outs!!! Not being so home run dependent but still having plenty of thump, Hooray!!!

Mainly I'm just glad Keon Broxton isn't a regular and Thames won't be flailing away against lefties. Now we just need Derek Johnson to work his magic with the pitching staff.

Tomorrow's game can't come soon enough!

Is anyone else thoroughly enjoying watching Lester struggle mightily against a sub-replacement level team?

Coulda called it. He was pretty horrible last year.

mlb gameday has him mostly 88-90 with his 4 seamer. He went down from 93s most of his career to 91.7 per fangraphs. If he suffers another dip...he's going to have a hard time remaining effective in this league.

It’s too bad he can be their 4th or 5th best starter and it not really be a detriment to them
