After reading Haurdicourt article this morning on Brewer future moves, I got thinking IF we make the playoffs, and I am optimistic we will, Who is our starting pitcher for the first game?

This isn’t the thread for that. Unless you were to say it could be Brent Suter and no matter who the opponent, we win 10-0.

They would have to take at lest 2 against Atlanta. That is going to be tough given those pitching match ups.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Actually I'm pretty good at math. 51+35 = 86 games played. Multiplied x2 = 172 games... So we're actually 5 games past the halfway mark...

The 1979 Brewers hold the team record for most wins in the first half with 54. That team went 54-38. Here’s a look at the Brewers teams with the most first half wins in a season.

 

1979 Brewers, 54

2014 Brewers, 53

2008 Brewers, 52

2017 Brewers, 49 (as of July 7… two games remaining in first half)

2007 Brewers, 49

2011 Brewers, 49

1978 Brewers, 48

1982 Brewers, 48

 

16 over at the break in 79 when I was 6. Let's do just one better!!!

 

Edit... assuming no rainouts, they would need to be 58-40 at the break to do better.
