Brewers now have the #1 and #3 outfielders in the NL based off WAR. That is pretty impressive. Aguilar is number 6 for 1b, Shaw is 4 for 3b. Thames is top 10 at 1b and broxton is actually top 20 in of. This team has the pieces they just need the bottom of the order to be improved.

We are 1-0 since last night.... win came against one of the most elite pitchers in baseball. I’ll take that

The Brewers now have a .500 record in the month of July (12-12). All things considered, that seems like reason for optimism.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

We have 60 wins.

Up in wild card

1.5 back in division

And we just sucked for a couple weeks

And have another nice arm in the pen and Moose on the way

DS will get us a starter too and look out NL!

Yelich is currently playing his way into NL MVP conversations. He is 7th in OPS and is right their for the batting crown. His OPS is 1.660 over his last 7 games! Who would have guessed this a month ago?

Chase Anderson has also turned a corner especially if he can work deeper into games like last night. Chacin has been great the last month. There is definitely reason for optimism

Winners of 4/5 (the world isn’t falling apart?!)

Soria

Moustakas

Stearns says a move or two before the end of Tuesday is likely!

Gotta love the start quintana is off to in stl today...0.0 ip, 5er so far.

And many here will still claim Stearns made a mistake not upping his offer for Quintana. Quintana now has an era higher than every Brewer starter

I wish I was more confident in the cards actually holding on to a 6 run (now 4 run) lead

would've been nearly impossible at the time to up the Cubs' offer of Jimenez and Cease, anyway...for perspective, Jimenez's 2018 minor league statline between AA and AAA thus far:

.332 BA .382 OBP .586 SLG .968 OPS

as a 21 yr old, with a few minor injuries mixed in between. Outside of Vlad's son I think he's the best prospect in all of baseball. I mean, the Cubs traded him apparently because they felt he was blocked at the MLB level by Heyward, Schwarber, and Happ - big mistake longterm, IMO.

Orlando Arcia has two nice hits yesterday, and has is average up to .200 again. It's gonna keep climbing, too.

Who would have thought that Arcia and Travis Shaw were going to end up being our stud middle infield acquisitions?

All 5 of the Brewers current starters have an ERA lower than 3.75. obviously some have small sample size but without Nelson and Davies I don't think anyone would have guessed that.

The offense is revitalized with the Moustakas acquisition, Yelich is staying unbelievably hot, and Braun is breaking out and will have a big second half to help lead the Crew on a long winning streak down the stretch!

Fangraphs, Baseball Prospectus, and 538 are all converging on their Brewers projections. ~89 wins and 70-80% odds of making the playoffs.

Let's see what those odds are after a 6-2 road trip!

Not sure this belongs in this thread but I just noticed that if the Nationals win tonight(leading 10-0) the NL will only have 4 teams that are under .500.......that seems so strange.

No real great teams but very few really bad ones.........parity at its finest.....and very unlike the AL.

Tied for 1st going into August. Most wins in the NL. Didn't trade Huira or Burnes. Stearns' off season moves Cain, Yelich, Chacin, Jeffress and Miley all playing huge roles. This is fun again
